Rutronik Racing has finalised its 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe line-up by adding a second car to compete in the Bronze Cup class, completing a strengthened driver roster for the upcoming season.
Following the recent announcement of its full-season Lamborghini entry, the German squad has now confirmed that its second crew will take the wheel of a Porsche, marking a significant expansion of its programme. The #97 entry will compete in the five Endurance rounds with drivers Antares Au, Sven Müller and Riccardo Pera. Notably, the trio will pilot Porsche’s previous-generation 911 GT3-R, rather than the Evo model now widely used by rival teams, emphasising Rutronik’s confidence in their proven machinery.
Strategic expansion strengthens Rutronik Racing programme for 2026 GTWC Europe
Au retains his seat in the Porsche, following an impressive 2025 campaign. The Hong Kong driver scored a class win at Monza Circuit, a performance that helped him finish runner-up in the Bronze Cup Endurance standings. Additionally, Au has previously triumphed in his class at the 24 Hours of Spa, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure in long-distance GT racing. This season, Au brings continuity and experience to the #97 crew, offering a solid foundation around which the new line-up can build its Bronze Cup challenge.
Meanwhile, Müller, the reigning GT World Challenge Endurance champion, remains with Rutronik Racing. Having won the title last year, he will continue to pilot a Porsche this season, but his focus shifts to the Bronze Cup category.
His experience and familiarity with both the car and team infrastructure give the #97 entry a significant advantage. The German ace has proven racecraft and endurance skills, making him a key figure in Rutronik’s strategy to contend for top honours.
Finally, Italy’s Riccardo Pera completes the line-up, bringing substantial sportscar experience to the team. Pera made his GT World Challenge Europe debut last year at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with Lionspeed GP and has since established himself as a competent endurance driver.
Pera has competed in multiple international championships, including the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), European Le Mans Series (ELMS), and Italian GT series. His versatility and adaptability will prove invaluable across the varied circuits of the Endurance Cup.
By adding a second car and fielding a strong driver trio, Rutronik Racing demonstrates a clear ambition to challenge for the Bronze Cup title while continuing its Pro-level Lamborghini campaign.
