Jesse Carrasquedo enters the 2026 Euroformula Open Championship with Team Motopark, marking an important step in his rapidly developing career. At just 18 years old, he becomes the fourth Mexican driver on the grid and strengthens an already diverse line-up within the German squad.
Speaking about the opportunity, Carrasquedo said: “It’s good to be in this car, and I’ll give it all to deliver good results.” His statement reflects both determination and readiness as he prepares for a new competitive challenge.
Strong foundations from karting upwards marked by resilience through challenges
Carrasquedo began karting at the age of five, building his early experience across Mexico, the United States, and Europe. Notably, he achieved a fifth-place finish at the 2020 Rok Cup International Final, signalling his potential from a young age.
He then progressed into Formula 4, where he made an immediate impact. On his debut in the Danish F4 Championship, he secured a victory and added another win in the same weekend. This early success established him as a driver capable of adapting quickly to new machinery and conditions.
However, his journey has not been without setbacks. During the 2022 Spanish F4 Championship, Carrasquedo faced a difficult period that disrupted his season. Nevertheless, he responded with determination by returning to competition in NACAM Formula 4, where he won two races and finished second in another.
This ability to recover and perform under pressure has become a defining feature of his career.
Progression and breakthrough results
Carrasquedo continued to develop through various series, including the Formula Regional European Championship and Eurocup-3. While results initially varied, he steadily improved his consistency and racecraft.
His breakthrough came in Eurocup-3, where he secured his first podium and later his maiden victory. Building on that momentum, he delivered a strong 2025 season, winning races at Algarve and Spa and finishing fifth overall in the standings.
Now stepping into Euroformula Open, Carrasquedo aims to translate his experience into consistent front-running performances. Backed by Escudería Telmex and guided by Sergio Pérez, he continues to benefit from strong support and mentorship.
As a result, the 2026 season represents a crucial opportunity. With proven resilience, growing confidence, and a solid track record of improvement, Carrasquedo stands poised to establish himself as one of the championship’s rising talents.
