Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing has introduced a new Junior Academy programme as part of its expanding GB4 efforts. Through this initiative, the team aims to identify and develop emerging karting talent, while creating a structured pathway into single-seater racing. Importantly, the programme reflects the team’s long-term vision of nurturing drivers from grassroots level through to higher categories.

A structured development pathway

The Junior Academy will see selected drivers spend 12 months embedded within the team. During this time, they will utilise in-house facilities and gain hands-on experience to support their transition from karting to car racing.

In addition, academy members will attend several GB4 race events throughout the season. They will actively participate in post-session debriefs and gain insight into the team’s operations, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

As part of their development, academy drivers will begin GB4 testing programmes during the year. This approach will gradually introduce them to single-seater machinery, with the aim of preparing them for potential participation in the GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton. Consequently, the programme offers a clear and practical route into competitive car racing.

The team has already confirmed its first two academy drivers: karters Archie Pearce and Mollie Mizen.

Pearce, aged 16, only began karting just over a year ago. Nevertheless, he made rapid progress and competed in six rounds of the FAT Karting League in 2025, finishing eighth in his class.

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Mizen, from East Sussex, started karting in 2024. She developed through practice sessions at Lydd Kart Circuit before advancing into club racing and later competing in the Junior Rotax division of the Ultimate Karting Championship.

Focus on development and opportunity

Team principal Gary Ward emphasised the importance of easing the transition into single-seaters.

“As part of the team’s expansion, we were very keen to give drivers a smoother transition from karting into single-seaters. As we continue to build the team, a lot of focus has gone into the facilities at our base, which will play a major role in the development of these drivers as they move from karting into car racing for the first time.

“Archie and Mollie will be the first two drivers to take advantage of our new Academy. Both have excelled so far in their short careers, and we’re really looking forward to working with them as they step into a GB4 car for the first time. We think they are potential stars of the future, and I look forward to seeing how they progress.”

Team co-owner David Williams highlighted the broader ambition behind the initiative.

“We’re committed to unearthing the biggest talents coming out of karting, and wanted to provide an ideal environment for young drivers to come into, one which takes the pressure off such a big move at a young age.

“With the creation of our Academy, we’re able to create a link right through the grassroots of karting, into GB4 and then on to our GB3 team, which is something very few teams at this level can offer.”

Drivers eager to begin

Both academy drivers expressed their excitement about joining the programme and taking the next step in their careers.

Pearce said: “I honestly can’t wait to take this first step in my motorsport career. This is something I’ve dreamed about, so the chance to start this journey properly means so much to me. I’m really excited to be doing it with Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing in the GB4 Championship.

“There’s still a lot for me to learn, but I’m ready to work hard, improve every time I get in the car, and make the most of this opportunity.”

Mizen added: “I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to be involved in this up and coming Academy, and am excited to see how I will progress.”

Looking ahead

As Nitrous ADM Racing continues to grow, the launch of its Junior Academy marks a significant milestone. By investing in young drivers and providing a clear progression route, the team positions itself as a key player in driver development.

With Pearce and Mizen leading the inaugural intake, the programme now sets the foundation for future talent to rise through the ranks and into GB4 competition.
