Formula E returned to action with FP3 to mark the start of Round 10 at the 2026 Monaco E-Prix after a chaotic Race 1.
Round 9 of Season 12 saw setbacks and breakthroughs. Notably, Nyck de Vries claimed Mahindra Racing’s first victory since 2021, while Pepe Martí took his maiden Formula E podium, and Mitch Evans became the championship leader. On the other hand, polesitter Dan Ticktum faced strategy and penalty obstacles, while Jake Dennis and António Félix Da Costa suffered from collisions and DNFs.
Green light for FP3
Nico Müller led the pack onto the track as the 40-minute FP3 Monaco E-Prix session began. Meanwhile, new championship leader Mitch Evans delayed his pitlane exit, reporting an issue on his Jaguar TCS Racing car. A 1:35.275 benchmark time was set by Müller as drivers began their first laps.
Ten minutes into the session, Evans made his way out of the garage onto the Circuit de Monaco. Felipe Drugovich, who claimed his season-best result of P4 in Race 1, stormed to the top of the timesheets. Müller and Drugovich constantly swapped the fastest times until Dan Ticktum went quicker than the duo with a 1:27.064.
As conditions continued to improve, small driver mistakes increased, with Oliver Rowland and Wehrlein sliding on track.
Times improve
Halfway through the FP3 session, drivers made their way into the garage. The Mahindra Racing duo returned to the track quickly, completing strong push laps and taking P1 and P2. Evans made his way up to P11, still adjusting to the car after starting the session with a technical issue.
Müller stormed to the top with a 1:26.491, setting the fastest time of the weekend. At the same time, Dennis and Buemi locked up at Sainte Devote. At the end of the session, Mortara received a fine for speeding in the pit lane.
Müller finished the 2026 Formula E Monaco E-Prix FP3 session on top, followed by Mortara in P2 and Maximilian Günther in P3.
