Nico Müller set the pace ahead of Qualifying 2 at the Monaco E-Prix, topping FP3. The Porsche driver led the way with a 1:26.491 as lap times continued to fall around the Circuit de Monaco. Edoardo Mortara followed in second, while Maximilian Günther completed the top three to underline DS Penske’s strong start to Round 10.

Mitch Evans faced an early setback after an issue delayed his pitlane exit, although the new championship leader eventually joined the session and worked his way up the order. Elsewhere, improving track conditions encouraged quicker laps but also caught out several drivers, with Oliver Rowland and Pascal Wehrlein sliding on track before Jake Dennis and Sébastien Buemi locked up at Sainte Devote.

After a disrupted but increasingly competitive FP3, Qualifying 2 offered the field its first real chance to turn one-lap pace into track position for the second Monaco race.

Group A

Group A kicked off the final Qualifying session of the 2026 Monaco E-Prix and Müller was the man to beat after FP3. This group saw yesterday’s heavy hitters go head-to-head for a spot in the Duel Stages, including Dan Ticktum, who looked for redemption after a penalty stripped him of his third place spot.

All eyes were equally on Race 1’s winner, Nyck de Vries, taking his first victory since 2022 and also Mahindra’s first win in the Gen3 era.

Ticktum put in a strong lap o 1:28.492, bumping himself into second. Mitch Evans also fought for a spot in the Duels, swapping places with the Cupra Kiro driver. Further below, Felipe Drugovich and Norman Nato looked in contention to move on, but Drugovich pushed Nato into fifth.

In the final stages, Ticktum improved into first, while Edoardo Mortara finally showed his pace behind. Evans settled into third, while de Vries was unable to improve his times. Müller also did not progress. Drugovich took the final spot into the Quarter Finals.

Group B

It was Group B’s turn to hit the track and pressure was on for Pascal Wehrlein, after his teammate did not make it through. Oliver Rowland still looked uncomfortable heading out as his car looked out of shape on the bump before Mirabeau. Despite this, Wehrlein briefly led the pack before the Nissan driver knocked him out, followed by António Félix da Costa, Pepe Martí and Joel Eriksson.

DS Penske kept it positive as Taylor Barnard and Maximilian Günther improved their times, with Günther taking the top spot before his lap time was deleted due to track limit violations. With Wehrlein not improving further, at least the other half of the DS Penske garage has reason to celebrate. Barnard finished Group B’s run in first, while Günther had to settle for sixth.

Quarter Final

The first duo to take the Quarter Final were Mortara and Evans. Mortara drove the fastest first sector of the Formula E 2026 Monaco E-Prix weekend, while the Jaguar TCS driver held his own. However, the Mahindra driver was just too fast, beating Evans by a quarter of a second.

Ticktum was ready to put up a fight against Drugovich, after earning Pole Position for yesterday’s race. The Brazilian driver was quicker at the start of the lap but Ticktum caught up in the second sector. The Duel went in favour of the Cupra Kiro driver, gaining two-tenths in the final sector.

The award for the most thrilling Duel during the Quarter Final went to da Costa and Barnard. The Portuguese driver and Barnard were neck-and-neck, but the Jaguar TCS driver went slightly quicker in Sector2, beating Barnard by just 0.001s at the flag.

Semi Finals

The Semi Finals were heated as Mortara flew around the track, taking the fastest time of the weekend. The joy did not last as Ticktum went over two-tenths faster, booking himself a spot in the Finals. An impressive feat for the Cupra Kiro driver.

Da Costa also looked consistent, beating his former teammate Jean-Éric Vergne (JEV) by a couple of hundredths. The finals were set to be interesting after yesterday’s incident between da Costa and Ticktum.

Finals

Dan Ticktum makes history at the 2026 Monaco E-Prix , taking back-to-back pole positions, after significantly beating da Costa during Qualifying 2. The Brit had the quickest first sectors on the whole weekend and built an advantage of seven-tenths of a second by the time he reached the line.
