Defending Indy 500 Winner Alex Palou started on Pole, ahead of former winner Alexander Rossi and David Malukas. Prior to Sunday, Rossi was involved in a massive crash, but walked away with minor injuries. He was later cleared to race. Heading into the race, Palou was looking to join Josef Newgarden as a back-to-back winner of the Indy 500.
