Reza Seewooruthun has outlined his ambitions ahead of his rookie FIA Formula 3 (F3) campaign in 2027, identifying consistent top-ten finishes as his primary objective as he prepares to step up with Rodin Motorsport. The 20-year-old British driver will continue his relationship with the team following a promising season in the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), where he secured two podium finishes and demonstrated his potential against experienced junior single-seater competitors.

Having progressed through British F4, GB3 and Formula Regional, Seewooruthun now faces another significant challenge as he prepares to compete on Formula 1 weekends. However, he believes his familiarity with Rodin’s personnel and engineering structure will make the transition considerably smoother, allowing him to concentrate on adapting to the more powerful F3 machinery.

Seewooruthun will join Pedro Clerot and Alessandro Giusti in Rodin’s 2027 line-up, becoming the team’s only rookie alongside two drivers with previous F3 experience. Speaking during post-season testing, he discussed the benefits of continuing with Rodin, the opportunities presented by his experienced teammates and the circuits he is particularly looking forward to visiting.

Seewooruthun excited to achieve long-standing F3 ambition

Seewooruthun’s promotion represents another important milestone in a junior single-seater career that has developed rapidly over the past several seasons. The British driver finished third in the 2024 British F4 Championship before stepping up to GB3 in 2025, where he secured fifth in the standings following a campaign that included a race victory and several podium finishes.

He subsequently joined Rodin Motorsport for the 2026 FREC season, continuing his progression through the junior categories. Although the championship presented new challenges, Seewooruthun demonstrated competitive pace throughout the campaign and secured two podium finishes, strengthening his case for promotion to F3.

The confirmation of Seewooruthun’s 2027 F3 promotion marked an important continuation of his development with Rodin, allowing him to remain within an organisation that has already supported his progression.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Seewooruthun expressed his enthusiasm about reaching a championship he has long aspired to compete in.

“I’m super excited to get going,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to race in the FIA Formula 3. I think it’s one of those vital steps on the pathway, so I’m very happy to be doing it so soon.

Continuing with Rodin provides valuable stability for F3 transition

While F3 will introduce several unfamiliar challenges, Seewooruthun believes remaining with Rodin will provide an important advantage as he adapts to the championship’s demands. Having already spent a season competing with the organisation in Formula Regional, he has established relationships with the team’s personnel and developed an understanding of its working methods.

That familiarity should prove particularly valuable given the limited practice opportunities available during F3 race weekends. Rather than concentrating on adapting to an entirely new environment, Seewooruthun can focus on understanding the Dallara F3 2025, refining his driving and extracting performance from the car.

“Continuing with Rodin just saves some of the hassle. You already know everyone, and I’ve also known my engineer a bit from last year, seeing him around the factory and also seeing all the boys on the sim, so it just helps the integration process be a lot smoother.

“Also, I know how the sim works and things like that, so you’re not learning new things, so it’s not as much compared to if I was to change teams.”

The continuity also reflects Rodin’s wider approach to driver development, with the team supporting competitors across several junior championships. Having already worked with Seewooruthun throughout 2026, the organisation will now aim to build on that relationship as he progresses into F3.

Clerot and Giusti offer important experience within Rodin line-up

Seewooruthun will enter the 2027 season as Rodin’s only rookie, joining two teammates with substantial F3 experience. Clerot will return for his second campaign after finishing sixth in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship, while Giusti will contest his third season in the category following two years with MP Motorsport.

Clerot enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign, securing five podium finishes and claiming his maiden victory during the Madrid finale. Meanwhile, Giusti brings experience from two full seasons in F3, having secured two podiums during his debut campaign in 2025.

Rodin’s confirmation of Giusti alongside Clerot and Seewooruthun therefore provides the team with a combination of continuity and experience, particularly as it aims to improve on its sixth-place finish in the 2026 Teams’ Championship.

For Seewooruthun, the opportunity to work alongside two established competitors could accelerate his development. By analysing their performances and comparing their approaches to different circuits, he hopes to identify areas where he can improve before the season begins.

Seewooruthun aims to maximise knowledge from experienced teammates

Speaking during testing, Seewooruthun highlighted the importance of working closely with Clerot and Giusti as he familiarises himself with F3 machinery. Both drivers have already experienced the championship’s demanding race weekends, providing valuable references for the British driver’s development.

Their experience should prove particularly useful when analysing braking points, cornering techniques and car behaviour across different circuit characteristics. Seewooruthun believes access to their data will allow him to identify performance differences and make more effective adjustments as he gains experience.

“I think just using their data as much as I can,” he explained. “It’s always good to have fast teammates because it’s vital information for me.

“Obviously, they’re in their second and third year, so it’s just perfect for me. I’ve got lots of data to go off. I can pester them for information on stuff. Again, it just makes my life a lot easier moving up, makes that process a lot easier.”

The opportunity to learn from both teammates will become particularly important during the opening rounds, when Seewooruthun must adapt quickly to unfamiliar circuits and the championship’s competitive environment.

With Clerot and Giusti already familiar with the car and race format, Rodin will also have an established foundation for its technical preparations.

Consistent top-ten finishes form Seewooruthun’s main objective

Although Seewooruthun has demonstrated the ability to challenge for podiums throughout his junior career, he has adopted a measured approach to his first F3 season. Rather than targeting immediate victories, the British driver intends to prioritise consistent points-scoring performances as he develops his understanding of the championship.

F3’s competitive nature means that small differences in qualifying can significantly influence race results, particularly with 30 drivers competing across the same weekend. The reversed-grid Sprint Race also introduces additional opportunities and challenges, making consistency across both contests particularly valuable.

Seewooruthun believes regular top-ten finishes could provide a foundation for a competitive championship campaign, especially if he can avoid the setbacks that often affect rookie drivers.

“I think just consistently finishing in the top ten,” he said. “We know how up and down these championships can be.

“By just finishing inside the top ten, you’re within reach of the championship, so I’ve just got to make sure we’re there for both races and then.

His approach reflects an understanding of the importance of building momentum throughout the season. By regularly finishing among the points-scoring positions, Seewooruthun hopes to establish himself as a competitive rookie while continuing to improve his outright pace.

Jeddah and Montreal among Seewooruthun’s most anticipated circuits

The 2027 F3 calendar will introduce several new challenges, with the championship expanding its international presence through first-time visits to Jeddah, Montreal and Istanbul. The ten-round campaign will take place across four continents, offering drivers opportunities to compete at a wider range of circuits.

Seewooruthun has identified the new street circuits as particularly exciting additions, highlighting the combination of high-speed corners and demanding layouts that should suit the characteristics of F3 machinery.

The 2027 FIA F3 calendar will begin in Bahrain on 12–14 March before heading directly to Jeddah the following weekend. Montreal will subsequently host the championship’s first North American round in May, while Istanbul Park will stage the season finale in October.

“I think Jeddah will be cool, or Montreal. Street circuits will be cool, especially with these cars, they’re so nice to drive. There’s so much traction, lots of downforce, so any of the high-speed tracks I think will be good.”

His enthusiasm for those venues reflects his growing confidence in the car following testing, although their unfamiliar layouts will present additional challenges as he prepares for his rookie campaign.

Seewooruthun looks to build on Rodin’s 2026 F3 progress

Seewooruthun’s promotion comes as Rodin Motorsport prepares to build on its strongest F3 campaign to date. The team finished sixth in the 2026 Teams’ Championship with 161 points, collecting victories and podiums through Clerot and Brando Badoer.

The team’s decision to retain Clerot for a second season provides continuity following the Brazilian’s successful rookie campaign, while Giusti’s arrival introduces additional experience. Together, the three drivers will aim to strengthen Rodin’s position against established championship contenders.

For Seewooruthun, that environment offers an opportunity to develop without simultaneously adjusting to an unfamiliar team. His previous Formula Regional experience should provide a useful foundation, particularly as he already understands Rodin’s approach to engineering, simulation work and race preparation.

However, the transition to F3 will require him to adapt to increased aerodynamic performance, different tyre characteristics and a more demanding international calendar. His immediate priority will therefore remain focused on making consistent progress and maximising the opportunities available during each race weekend.

With his 2027 seat secured and preparations already underway, Seewooruthun will now aim to translate his Formula Regional experience into competitive results as he begins the next stage of his single-seater career.
