Rafael Câmara won the 2025 FIA F3 title with a dominant drive at the Feature Race of the Hungarian GP. He started from pole and controlled the wet Feature Race from lights to flag. Conditions were tricky, but Câmara stayed calm. He handled two Safety Car restarts and held off pressure from Mari Boya. Boya closed the gap late, but Câmara responded and pulled clear. He crossed the line over two seconds ahead. The win gave him enough points to seal the championship with a round to spare. Câmara showed speed, control, and confidence all season. In Hungary, he proved why he is the 2025 Formula 3 Champion.

Câmara kept it clean to seal the deal

Câmara entered the Hungarian weekend with the title in reach, and delivered under pressure. From the opening practice session, he looked in control—fast, composed, and focused on the goal. The chaotic conditions of the Feature Race tested that resolve, with Mari Boya never far from his rear wing and multiple Safety Car interruptions threatening to shift the momentum. But Câmara stayed sharp and made no mistakes when it mattered most.

“In the end, it was a perfect weekend,” he said. “I scored many points, we as a team did a very good job this weekend, always there at the top, since FP. I am just very happy to close the Championship, also with how I managed the race. It was quite tough because Mari [Boya] was always behind, so I had to make sure there were no mistakes.”

Reflecting on the season, Câmara pointed to consistency as the key to his success. He praised the team for giving him the platform to fight for the title and admitted that, with the job now done, he could finally take a moment to enjoy it.

“Now we can enjoy the moment, it was a very good season, we have been very consistent from the beginning, also a big thanks to the team to give me this chance to fight for the Championship, and now we have done it, so we can enjoy a bit now.”

With the title on the line, Câmara relied on calm, consistency, and clean driving

Câmara’s F3 title-winning drive at the Hungarian GP was more than just a show of speed—it was a display of mental strength and composure under immense pressure. With the championship on the line, every decision mattered, and he knew it. But even as the tension mounted, he stayed focused on the basics.

“Giacomo always told me to keep it safe, don’t make any mistakes and focus,” he said. “I think they were more worried than me, I was just focusing on myself, doing everything from the beginning of the race to not make mistakes, just keeping it clean.”

For Câmara, the emotions began to build as the finish line drew closer. The weight of a long season and the memories of everything he’d worked for began to sink in. But even through the pressure, he never lost control.

“When you are close, you know what is about to happen,” he explained. “You think about everything, all the hard work you did before, all the things you did to achieve this, and for sure you get a bit emotional, but super happy.”

The weekend had been far from easy. Qualifying was stressful, and in both races, the margin for error was razor-thin. Still, Câmara delivered.

“It was a very tough weekend for me, already from quali it was stressful. Yesterday I had to keep it clean—it’s not easy when everyone is chasing you, like you cannot make any mistakes. For myself, I can be proud that I managed the weekend in a very good way, and now we can relax.”
