2026 GTWC Europe | Standings after Round 6 at Magny-Cours

The 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe powered by AWS season continued at Magny-Cours with the third Sprint Cup event of the campaign and the sixth round of the combined championship.

Victories for Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella in Race 1 and Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus in Race 2 reshaped several Overall and Sprint Cup title battles. However, Lucas Auer and Maro Engel retained the Overall Drivers’ Championship lead, while Winward Racing remained ahead in the Overall Teams’ standings despite scoring only in the opening race.

Magny-Cours also produced significant movement across the Gold, Silver and Bronze Cup classifications. However, because the French event featured only Sprint Cup action, every Endurance Cup table remained unchanged from the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Winward Racing retained the Overall Teams’ Championship lead after Magny-Cours, although its advantage narrowed for the second successive Sprint Cup round. Lucas Auer and Maro Engel finished fourth in Race 1 but slipped to 19th after a slow pit stop in Race 2. Their Race 1 result added 7.5 points, moving Winward Racing from 108.5 to 116.

Team WRT reduced the deficit from 19.5 to 10.5 points after adding 16.5 across the weekend. Max Hesse and Valentino Rossi finished sixth in Race 1, while Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro delivered the team’s strongest Sunday result by finishing second overall and winning the Silver Cup. However, Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde endured a difficult round after placing seventh on Saturday and retiring from Race 2 following their Qualifying 2 exclusion.

Lionspeed GP strengthened third place by increasing its total from 60.5 to 79 points. Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus concluded the weekend with victory in Race 2 after a rapid pit stop moved their Porsche from fourth into the lead. Consequently, Lionspeed now sits 26.5 points behind Team WRT but holds an 18-point advantage over AF Corse.

AF Corse climbed from fifth to fourth after Thomas Neubauer and Arthur Leclerc finished second in Race 1 and fourth in Race 2. Their 19.5-point gain moved the Ferrari squad to 61, four clear of Garage 59. The McLaren team added nine points through two top-seven finishes for Marvin Kirchhöfer and Dean MacDonald, while 2Seas Motorsport moved within half a point of Garage 59 in sixth.

Comtoyou Racing advanced from 37.5 to 48 points after Kobe Pauwels and Nicki Thiim secured third in Race 1. Boutsen VDS follows on 43, while Tresor Attempto Racing and ROWE Racing complete the top 10. Further back, Rutronik Racing made one of the largest gains by moving from 9 to 18.5 points after Patric Niederhauser and Luca Engstler earned the Lamborghini Temerario GT3’s first GTWC podium in Race 2.

The official classification places Winward Racing 10.5 points ahead of Team WRT. Lionspeed GP remains third but closed to within 26.5 points of the Belgian squad, while only 4.5 points separate AF Corse, Garage 59 and 2Seas Motorsport in the battle for fourth.

Auer and Engel also retained the Overall Drivers’ Championship lead, increasing their total from 107 to 114.5 points. Their fourth-place finish in Race 1 supplied their only score of the weekend, but the Winward pairing still holds a substantial advantage with four rounds remaining.

Feller and Buus made the largest gain among the leading contenders. Their Race 2 victory added 16.5 points and lifted them from fourth to second on 77, reducing their deficit to Auer and Engel to 37.5 points. Weerts and Van der Linde dropped from third to a share of 74 after scoring only three points at Magny-Cours, although the official classification places them ahead of Luca Stolz, who did not compete during the Sprint Cup round.

Leclerc surged from ninth to fifth after collecting 19.5 points through second and fourth place. Juncadella made similar progress and climbed from 12th to sixth after sharing the Race 1 victory with Jules Gounon before finishing eighth on Sunday. Their weekend also began with Gounon leading a Mercedes-AMG front-row lockout in Qualifying 1.

Thiim remains seventh after adding 10.5 points through Race 1’s podium and his inherited Race 2 pole. Neubauer climbed from 17th to eighth alongside Leclerc’s strong results, while Gounon moved from 19th to ninth on 38.5. Jordan Pepper failed to score and consequently fell from fifth to 10th, half a point behind Gounon.

Auer and Engel lead Feller and Buus by 37.5 points, while Weerts, Van der Linde and Stolz sit another three points behind. However, Magny-Cours significantly reshaped the positions immediately outside the leading four, with Leclerc, Juncadella, Neubauer and Gounon all making substantial gains.

Garage 59 retained the combined Gold Cup Teams’ Championship lead, but AF Corse and CSA Racing both reduced their deficits during the Magny-Cours Sprint Cup round. The McLaren squad added 19 points to move from 121 to 140, while AF Corse collected 24 points and closed from 14 points behind to nine. CSA Racing gained 23.5 points and now sits another nine points behind AF Corse in third.

Boutsen VDS recorded the largest gain after Gilles Magnus and Robin Knutsson claimed the Gold Cup victory in Race 1. James Kell and Arthur Rougier then won the class for CSA Racing in Race 2, finishing sixth overall after resisting pressure from Garage 59. Boutsen consequently moved from 43 to 68 points, while CSA closed to within 18 points of Garage 59.

Thomas Fleming and Louis Prette continue to lead the combined Gold Cup Drivers’ Championship. Their two Magny-Cours results lifted them from 121 to 138 points, giving them a 31.5-point advantage over Rougier and Kell. The CSA pairing climbed from fourth to second after adding 23.5 points, while Simon Gachet moved to third on 103.

Tommaso Mosca and Matías Zagazeta also made significant progress after adding 24 points through two second-place class finishes. They climbed to sixth on 68 points, while Race 1 winners Magnus and Knutsson moved to seventh on 65.

2026 GTWC Europe standings after Round 6 at Magny-Cours: Overall: Silver Cup

Team WRT strengthened its position at the top of the combined Silver Cup Teams’ Championship, although the difference between the teams’ and drivers’ totals widened because of the championship’s scoring structure. The Belgian squad increased its Teams’ total from 124.5 to 141 points and now leads GetSpeed by 70.

Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro enjoyed a perfect class weekend. They won the Silver Cup in Race 1 before finishing second overall and taking another class victory in Race 2. Their 34-point haul moved them from 124.5 to 158.5 points in the Drivers’ Championship.

GetSpeed advanced from third to second in the Teams’ standings after adding 7.5 points, while AF Corse moved from 63.5 to 68 and took third. Optimum Motorsport slipped from second to fourth despite increasing its total by one point.

Aurélien Panis and Anthony Bartone climbed to second in the Drivers’ Championship after adding 15 points. They now share 75 points with Guilherme Oliveira and Mikey Porter, although the official classification places the GetSpeed pairing ahead on countback. Lismont and Montenegro lead both crews by 83.5 points.

Kessel Racing retained the combined Bronze Cup Teams’ Championship lead, but the Magny-Cours weekend significantly reduced its advantage.

The Ferrari squad moved from 102.5 to 113 points despite Dustin Blattner’s heavy Race 2 accident. Paradine Competition made the largest gain among the leaders, adding 22.5 points and reducing its deficit from 28 to 16. Its progress included a first Sprint Cup Bronze victory for Darren Leung and Augusto Farfus in Race 2.

Winward Racing remains third after Rinat Salikhov and Marvin Dienst increased the team’s total from 68.5 to 87 points. The Mercedes-AMG crew initially led the Race 2 class but lost the victory through a 20-second penalty for its involvement in the collision with Blattner.

Meanwhile, Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson claimed the Bronze Cup victory for 2Seas Motorsport in Race 1. Their result, together with another strong Sunday score, lifted 2Seas from fifth to fourth on 70 points.

Blattner and Dennis Marschall continue to lead the combined Drivers’ Championship after moving from 102.5 to 110 points. However, Leung reduced their advantage from 28 to 13 points, while Dienst and Salikhov remain third on 87.

Blattner and Marschall remain ahead, but Leung’s Race 2 victory has transformed the title fight by reducing their advantage to 13 points. Dienst and Salikhov sit another 10 points behind, while Jewiss and Dawson remain within 40 points of the lead after their successful Magny-Cours round.

Sprint Cup

Magny-Cours hosted the third Sprint Cup round of the 2026 GTWC Europe powered by AWS season, following the opening events at Brands Hatch and Round 5 at Misano.

Jules Gounon led a Mercedes-AMG front-row lockout in Qualifying 1 before converting pole into victory alongside Daniel Juncadella in Race 1. Kelvin van der Linde initially topped Qualifying 2, but a technical infringement cost Team WRT its times and promoted Nicki Thiim to pole. Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus then won Race 2 after Lionspeed GP produced the fastest pit stop of the field.

Those results tightened both Overall Sprint Cup title fights. Weerts and Van der Linde retained the Drivers’ Championship lead, but Feller and Buus reduced their advantage to just 2.5 points. Team WRT also remained first in the Teams’ standings, although Lionspeed GP and 2Seas Motorsport both made significant gains.

Team WRT retained the Sprint Cup Teams’ Championship lead by increasing its total from 51 to 67 points. Max Hesse and Valentino Rossi supplied four points through sixth place in Race 1 before finishing ninth on Sunday, while Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro took second overall and the Silver Cup victory in Race 2. Weerts and Van der Linde added a seventh-place result on Saturday, but their Qualifying 2 exclusion and subsequent retirement prevented the #32 BMW from contributing more heavily.

Lionspeed GP climbed from third to second after Feller and Buus won Race 2. Their victory helped the Porsche squad increase its total from 30.5 to 49 points, leaving it 18 behind Team WRT. Meanwhile, 2Seas Motorsport gained 19.5 points and advanced from fourth to third on 46.5, only 2.5 behind Lionspeed.

AF Corse also enjoyed a productive weekend as Arthur Leclerc and Thomas Neubauer followed second place in Race 1 with fourth on Sunday. The Ferrari squad added 19.5 points and moved from sixth to fourth on 45, pushing Winward Racing down to fifth despite Engel and Auer finishing fourth in the opening contest. Winward scored nothing in Race 2 following a slow pit stop and now sits three points behind AF Corse.

Emil Frey Racing retained sixth but added only half a point, allowing Garage 59 to close to within three points after Marvin Kirchhöfer and Dean MacDonald finished fifth and seventh. Boutsen VDS moved to 18 points, while Comtoyou Racing surged from 3.5 to 14 after Pauwels and Thiim claimed third in Race 1 and inherited the second Qualifying pole.

Rutronik Racing made another significant gain by climbing from 13th to 10th. Patric Niederhauser and Luca Engstler secured the Lamborghini Temerario GT3’s first GTWC podium with third in Race 2, lifting the team to 11.5 points. Eastalent Racing follows on 10 after Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher finished fifth on Sunday.

Weerts and Van der Linde retained the Sprint Cup Drivers’ Championship lead, but their advantage fell from 14 points to just 2.5. The Team WRT pairing collected three points through seventh in Race 1 before van der Linde lost his Qualifying 2 times and retired from Sunday’s race following contact. They now hold 49.5 points.

Feller and Buus climbed from third to second after adding 16.5 points for their Race 2 victory. The Lionspeed duo now sits on 47 points and holds a 2.5-point advantage over Juncadella, who made the largest gain among the established title contenders.

Juncadella rose from fourth to third after winning Race 1 with Gounon and finishing eighth on Sunday. He added 19.5 points across the weekend to reach 44.5. However, Gounon remains sixth on 32.5 because he did not contest the earlier Brands Hatch round with Juncadella.

Leclerc and Neubauer also collected 19.5 points and advanced from fifth to fourth on 41, only half a point ahead of Engel and Auer. The Winward drivers added 7.5 points through fourth in Race 1 but slipped from second to fifth after finishing outside the points on Sunday.

Hesse and Rossi remain seventh after moving to 25 points, while Kirchhöfer and MacDonald climbed to eighth on 18. Lismont and Montenegro’s second place in Race 2 lifted them into ninth with 14.5, ahead of the three pairings tied on 14 points.

Further back, Pauwels and Thiim climbed to 11.5 points after their Race 1 podium. Engstler and Niederhauser entered the standings on 9.5 after finishing third on Sunday, while Haase and Reicher moved to eight through their fifth-place result. AF Corse retained the Sprint Cup Gold Cup lead after Tommaso Mosca and Matías Zagazeta delivered two second-place finishes at Magny-Cours. The pair added 24 points across the two races, moving the Italian team from 44 to 68 and slightly increasing its advantage over CSA Racing from 1.5 to two points.

However, different crews claimed the two class victories. Gilles Magnus and Robin Knutsson converted Gold Cup pole into victory for Boutsen VDS in Race 1, finishing eighth overall. James Kell and Arthur Rougier then won Race 2 for CSA Racing after taking the class pole during Sunday’s Qualifying session.

CSA added 23.5 points to reach 66, while Garage 59 strengthened third through two class podiums for Thomas Fleming and Louis Prette. The McLaren squad now holds 55 points, placing it 8.5 ahead of Tresor Attempto Racing. Boutsen VDS made the largest gain by collecting 25 points and climbing from seventh to fifth, ahead of VSR and KPX Motorsport.

Team WRT delivered a dominant Magny-Cours weekend to extend its already significant advantage in the Sprint Cup Silver Cup.

Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro won the class in both races, taking 13th overall in Race 1 before producing one of the weekend’s standout performances in Race 2. A rapid Team WRT pit stop promoted the #30 BMW to second overall, where Lismont finished only 2.120 seconds behind the race-winning Lionspeed GP Porsche.

The pairing also collected a Qualifying bonus point, bringing Team WRT’s Magny-Cours gain to 34 points. The Belgian squad therefore increased its total from 56.5 to 90.5 and now leads Walkenhorst Motorsport by 37 points.

Jamie Day and Mateo Villagomez kept Walkenhorst second despite adding only 12.5 points. GetSpeed closed to within two points of the Aston Martin team after Aurélien Panis and Anthony Bartone recorded two fourth-place class finishes, while Optimum Motorsport remains another four points behind in fourth.

Magny-Cours staged the second Bronze Cup round of the Sprint Cup season after the category joined the short-format championship at Misano.

Kiern Jewiss secured Bronze Cup pole and started second overall for 2Seas Motorsport in Qualifying 1. Jewiss and Charles Dawson initially crossed the line as the leading Bronze crew in Race 1, but an 18-second penalty for exceeding the Full Course Yellow speed limit dropped them to third in the amended class result. Consequently, Marvin Dienst and Rinat Salikhov inherited victory for Winward Racing, ahead of Ziggo Sport Tempesta Racing’s Eddie Cheever and Peter Dempsey.

Race 2 produced more drama when Salikhov and Kessel Racing’s Dustin Blattner collided near the Adelaide hairpin, causing a red flag. The stewards later handed the #87 Winward Mercedes-AMG a 20-second penalty, allowing Darren Leung and Augusto Farfus to claim Paradine Competition’s first Bronze Cup victory of the season.

Despite its Race 2 penalty, Winward retained the Teams’ Championship lead after adding 18.5 points across the weekend. Its total now stands at 47, eight ahead of 2Seas Motorsport. Endurance Cup

Magny-Cours hosted the third Sprint Cup event of the 2026 GTWC Europe powered by AWS season. Therefore, neither Race 1 nor Race 2 awarded Endurance Cup points.

As a result, every Endurance Cup classification remains unchanged from the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which formed the third long-distance round after Circuit Paul Ricard and Monza. Winward Racing continues to lead the Overall Endurance Cup, while Garage 59, Team WRT and Kessel Racing remain ahead in the Gold, Silver and Bronze Cup classifications respectively.

The Endurance Cup will resume at the Nürburgring for Round 7 before Portimão hosts the fifth and final long-distance event of the season.

ROWE Racing sits one point behind Comtoyou in fourth, with Garage 59 another point further back in fifth. CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa winner Lionspeed GP occupies sixth on 30 points, ahead of Tresor Attempto Racing and Boutsen VDS, which share 25 points.

Lucas Auer, Maro Engel and Luca Stolz continue to lead the Drivers’ Championship with 74 points. The Winward trio holds a 41-point advantage over Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim and Mattia Drudi, while Louis Prette, Thomas Fleming and Benjamin Goethe sit only one point behind the Comtoyou crew.

Winward Racing occupies fourth with 40 points, and Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn completes the top five on 33. However, 2Seas Motorsport, Lionspeed GP and Century Motorsport remain close enough to move forward during the final two rounds.
