JHR Developments’ Noah Lisle delivered a determined drive to claim third place in Race 1 of the 2025 GB3 Championship at Donington Park, overcoming a challenging start and rapidly changing track conditions to secure his fourth podium finish of the season.
Fighting back after a tough start
Lining up on the second row of the grid, Lisle initially lost ground off the line but recovered with a composed and strategic performance. He maintained steady pace throughout the 14-lap contest, holding off heavy pressure from Deagen Fairclough in the closing laps to clinch a well-deserved podium behind race winner Alex Ninovic (Rodin Motorsport) and second-placed Reza Seewooruthun (Argenti with Prema).
Salvaging a strong result despite an imperfect start please Lisle who, when reflecting on his race said, “Yeah, it was definitely tough. Thankfully, we’ve got a really quick car this weekend, so I was able to kind of make up for the bad start, but yeah, happy to finish on the podium.”
His ability to rebound quickly and extract pace from the car highlighted both his maturity and JHR Developments’ steady progress during the season.
Adapting to challenging conditions
Donington Park’s conditions proved treacherous, with strong winds and damp patches catching out several drivers. For Lisle, managing these variables in a car as aerodynamically sensitive as the GB3 chassis was a challenge in itself.
“Yeah, it’s super difficult. In these cars, because they’re obviously a lot more aerodominant than the F4 ones, so yeah, they’re super affected by the wind. And yeah, every lap feels a little bit different and it’s super different to how it was on Thursday. So yeah, something to keep in mind.”
His adaptability in fluctuating conditions allowed him to stay consistent while others struggled with grip and stability.
Although Lisle’s drive looked calm from the outside, the 18-year-old admitted there were a few nervous moments behind the wheel: “Definitely a couple of little mistakes in there, hopefully not on TV, but yeah, it was all right to be fair.”
Despite those minor errors, Lisle kept his composure, using his experience to maintain track position and deliver another strong result for JHR Developments. As the weekend continues, Lisle and JHR Developments will look to build on the momentum from Race 1, aiming for even stronger results in the upcoming races.
