Brazilian driver Pedro Clerot of Van Amersfoort Racing topped the first 2025 FRECA Round 10 Collective Test at Monza in damp conditions. Moreover, he set the morning benchmark with a 1:47.682 at the “Temple of Speed”. Consequently, the time established the early reference for teams adapting to the slick-but-greasy track.
Leaders and lap times
However, Clerot only edged clear by 0.331 seconds from Saintéloc Racing’s Nikita Bedrin. Furthermore, ART Grand Prix’s Taito Kato completed the top three at 0.629 seconds adrift. In addition, the leading trio sustained consistent pace across the 50-minute run despite evolving grip. Notably, their discipline through the Variante della Roggia and Ascari proved decisive on a low-temperature surface.
Meanwhile, championship leader Freddie Slater of R-ace GP placed eighth. By contrast, title rival Matteo De Palo of Trident Motorsport secured fifth and kept his bid alive. Crucially, De Palo trails Slater by only four points, so every lap of the finale carries weight. Nevertheless, the third contender, Enzo Deligny of R-ace GP, slipped to sixteenth after shining in yesterday’s wet running. As a result, Deligny faces a recovery mission before qualifying.
Additionally, Prema Racing’s Rashid Al Dhaheri impressed in fourth with tidy exits from the Lesmos. Similarly, ART Grand Prix’s Evan Giltare took sixth to underline the squad’s balance. Moreover, RPM’s Giovanni Maschio claimed seventh as the team maximised rotation in medium-speed corners. Subsequently, Jack Beeton (Prema) and Tomass Štolcermanis (RPM) rounded out the top ten in ninth and tenth. Importantly, the midfield gaps remained razor-thin, with just over a second covering much of the group.
What comes next
Looking ahead, teams and drivers will return for the second Collective Test at 12:05, again over 50 minutes. Therefore, the session offers a final window to refine ride heights, braking maps, and tyre preparation before qualifying. Ultimately, all eyes return to Slater, De Palo, and Deligny, while Clerot’s benchmark sets a firm tone for a decisive Monza finale.
