The 2026 Wera Tools F4 British Championship, certified by FIA, continued at Snetterton for the third round of the season, and the Norfolk triple-header delivered another major shift in momentum.
After the opening six races of the season had already produced five different winners across Donington Park and Brands Hatch, Snetterton added two more names to the victory list. Lewis Wherrell claimed his first win of the season in Race 1 before Timo Jüngling became the seventh different winner of the campaign in Race 2. Wherrell then returned to the top step in Race 3, completing a superb weekend for JHR Developments.
JHR was the clear benchmark across the round. Wherrell topped the weekend’s decisive sessions, secured the CADOLA Watches Pole Position Award, won two races and claimed Rookie Cup honours, while Jüngling added a reverse-grid victory and another Rookie Cup win.
Dries Van Langendonck, meanwhile, did not win at Snetterton but again maximised his weekend. The Rodin Motorsport driver scored three points finishes, including two podiums, and left Norfolk still leading both the Drivers’ Championship and Rookie Cup.
2026 British F4: Snetterton: Qualifying: Wherrell takes pole by tiny margin
Qualifying at Snetterton proved how competitive the 2026 British F4 field has become. Despite the circuit stretching almost three miles, the margins at the front were extremely tight, with the top five separated by just 0.093s.
Wherrell had already looked strong during practice and carried that pace into Saturday morning. The JHR Developments driver produced a late lap of 1:48.841 to take pole position for the weekend’s feature race, while his second-best time also secured pole for Race 1.
Adam Al Azhari again showed strong one-lap pace for Hitech, finishing second and only 0.047s away from Wherrell’s benchmark. Ethan Lennon placed third for Rodin Motorsport, just 0.003s behind Al Azhari, while Hitech teammates Theo Palmer and Scott Kin Lindblom completed the top five.
Van Langendonck qualified sixth for Rodin, ahead of Ethan Jeff-Hall, Joseph Smith, George Proudford-Nalder and Jarrett Clark. With Wherrell, Van Langendonck, Jüngling and Jaber Alsabah all inside the wider top 16, the Rookie Cup battle was also set up for a decisive weekend.

2026 British F4: Snetterton: Race 1: Wherrell wins from pole in commanding opener
Wherrell converted pole into victory in the opening race of the weekend, delivering a controlled lights-to-flag performance in difficult, high-temperature conditions.
The JHR Developments driver made the ideal launch and immediately pulled clear before early drama interrupted the race. Separate incidents at the final corner and Turn 1 brought out the safety car, with Kit Belofsky, Mate Kobakhidze, Tommy Harfield and Cameron Nelson among those caught up in the opening-lap trouble.
Once racing resumed, Wherrell wasted no time rebuilding his advantage. Kin Lindblom and Van Langendonck ran line astern behind him, but their battle allowed the leader to stretch the gap and eventually win by more than two seconds.
Kin Lindblom finished second for Hitech, while Van Langendonck completed the podium for Rodin Motorsport and strengthened his championship lead. Smith finished fourth for Virtuosi Racing, ahead of teammate Proudford-Nalder, who claimed a career-best fifth.
Palmer, Lennon, Jeff-Hall, Al Azhari and Clark completed the top ten, while Wherrell added both the Lotus Fastest Lap and Rookie Cup honours to his overall victory. His win also made him the sixth different winner from the opening seven races.

2026 British F4: Snetterton: Race 2: Jüngling wins attritional reverse-grid contest
Race 2 brought the reverse-grid format into play, and Jüngling took full advantage to become the seventh different winner of the 2026 British F4 season.
The JHR Developments driver started from pole and made a strong launch to hold off Felber into Turn 1. Behind them, Smith and Clark made contact as the Virtuosi Racing teammates charged into the opening corner, while further back Piotr Orzechowski was pushed onto the grass at Wilson.
That incident brought out the Lotus Safety Car, but Jüngling handled the restart perfectly. He immediately pulled clear at the front, while Felber had to withstand pressure from Van Langendonck for second.
Felber held on to secure another podium for Fortec Motorsport, while Van Langendonck took third and added more valuable championship points. Proudford-Nalder went one better than his Race 1 result to finish fourth, ahead of Jeff-Hall and Kin Lindblom.
Wherrell finished seventh after his Race 1 win, ahead of Lennon, Al Azhari and Hewetson. Jüngling also claimed Rookie Cup honours and the Lotus Fastest Lap, completing a superb race for JHR Developments.

2026 British F4: Snetterton: Race 3: Wherrell resists Al Azhari in shortened feature race
Wherrell completed his strongest British F4 weekend so far with a second victory in Race 3, but the feature race was far from straightforward.
The first start was quickly curtailed after separate incidents forced the race to be restarted. Once the field was released again, Wherrell tried to break clear from pole, but Al Azhari remained locked onto his gearbox.
The Hitech driver kept constant pressure on the leader throughout the shortened six-lap contest. Wherrell, however, defended with composure and never gave Al Azhari a clean opportunity to attack. On the final lap, he finally edged clear enough to seal victory by 0.250s.
Lennon completed the podium for Rodin Motorsport, taking third after another strong Sunday drive. Kin Lindblom again impressed for Hitech, charging to fourth and setting the fastest lap of the race, while Palmer bounced back from a difficult Race 2 to finish fifth.
Proudford-Nalder continued his best weekend of the season in sixth, ahead of Van Langendonck, Jeff-Hall, Clark and Harfield. Although Van Langendonck missed the podium in the finale, seventh still ensured he left Snetterton with the championship lead intact.
The result completed a clean sweep for JHR Developments across the weekend, with the team topping both practice sessions, qualifying and all three races.
