Momentum for Kimi Antonelli

It was another fabulous Sunday for 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli as he bagged a third straight Grand Prix win in 2026, converting it from another pole position. He extends his lead to 20 points over teammate George Russell.

While the Brit was P4 in the Sprint and GP, he was a clear step behind on pace all weekend. His Italian’s teammate penalty for track limits on Saturday and Leclerc’s error on Sunday saved him from losing even more ground.

The mistake from Charles Leclerc saw him throw away a P4, ending up in 8th following his penalty. It has allowed Lando Norris — Miami Sprint winner — and Oscar Piastri significantly close the gap in the standings. The 1-2 in the Sprint and 2-3 in the Grand Prix means McLaren scored the most points this weekend.

A P5 in the Sprint and Grand Prix has moved Max Verstappen up to P7 in points. It also means Red Bull jumped Haas and Alpine in the Constructors’ Championship. Franco Colapinto’s P7 in the Grand Prix has moved the Enstone squad ahead of Ayao Komatsu‘s team.

Williams also had a better weekend. Carlos Sainz in P9 and Alex Albon in 10th moved them ahead of Audi in the championship. The German manufacturer continues to be plagued by unreliabilty at the start of their brand new project.
