The FIA has confirmed a 24-driver entry list for the second FIA Formula 4 (F4) World Cup, which will take place during the 73rd Macau Grand Prix from 19–22 November 2026. The expanded field features leading Formula 4 champions, championship contenders and members of four Formula 1 driver development programmes.

Twelve teams representing ten countries will each field two Pirelli-equipped Tatuus F4-T421 cars, marking a significant change from the inaugural event’s centrally operated format. The revised structure increases the grid from 20 to 24 cars, bringing together drivers representing 21 countries or special administrative regions and a range of FIA-certified Formula 4 championships.

Among the leading entrants are newly crowned British F4 champion Dries van Langendonck, Italian F4 champion Luka Sammalisto and Spanish F4 championship leader Kasper Schormans. They will face competition from several highly rated juniors, including Rocco Coronel, Oleksandr Bondarev and Kenzo Craigie, as the event continues establishing itself as an important stepping stone in the FIA’s single-seater development pathway.

FIA F4 World Cup introduces expanded multi-team format

The second FIA F4 World Cup will introduce a new competitive structure after organisers confirmed plans to adopt a multi-team entry model earlier this year.

The inaugural 2025 edition featured 20 drivers competing in centrally prepared Mygale F4 machinery. However, the FIA has replaced that arrangement with a format allowing established international teams to operate their own cars, bringing the competition closer to the structure used in national F4 championships.

Organisers selected the 12 participating teams in July, considering sporting merit, international representation and operational standards. The teams will now introduce the Tatuus F4-T421 to Macau’s 6.120-kilometre Guia Circuit for the first time.

The revised format will create an additional engineering and operational challenge, with teams responsible for preparing their cars and managing race weekends on one of motorsport’s most demanding street circuits.

British and Italian F4 champions headline the field

Two recently crowned national champions will arrive in Macau seeking to add an international title to their 2026 achievements.

PREMA Racing will field McLaren Driver Development Programme member Dries van Langendonck, who secured the 2026 British F4 Championship following a highly competitive campaign. The Belgian will partner Turkish driver Alp Hasan Aksoy, who enters the final Italian F4 round second in the championship and leading the Rookie classification.

Meanwhile, US Racing will field newly crowned Italian F4 champion Luka Sammalisto alongside Australian driver Noah Killion. The Finn secured the championship at Misano following a dominant season that included multiple victories and established him as one of the category’s standout performers.

Hitech will also bring a strong pairing, with British F4 runner-up Theo Palmer representing the United Arab Emirates alongside British driver Jarrett Clark, who finished tenth in the same championship.

Their participation ensures that several of the season’s strongest British and Italian F4 competitors will compete directly, providing an opportunity to compare performances across different national championships.

Spanish F4 title contenders prepare for Macau showdown

The 2026 Spanish F4 Championship will also provide several leading contenders for the FIA F4 World Cup, with its championship battle continuing until the final round on 6–8 November.

MP Motorsport has confirmed an all-Dutch line-up featuring championship leader Kasper Schormans and Red Bull Junior Team driver Rocco Coronel. Schormans enters the season finale leading the standings, while Coronel remains third after establishing himself among the championship’s strongest competitors.

Coronel previously led the Spanish F4 championship during its opening rounds, but Schormans’ consistent performances subsequently helped him take control of the title battle.

Campos Racing will field another Red Bull junior, Scott Kin Lindblom, alongside Hong Kong driver Kimi Yu Tsai Chan. The Swedish driver finished seventh in British F4, while Chan currently occupies second in the Chinese F4 standings.

SJM Theodore Racing will also enter Spanish F4 title contender Noah Monteiro, who sits second in the championship with one round remaining. The Portuguese driver will partner Williams Driver Academy member Oleksandr Bondarev, who recently secured victory on his Formula Regional European Championship debut at Imola.

Rodin Motorsport completes another competitive pairing with Canadian Jensen Burnett and American Vivek Kanthan, both of whom have gained experience in Spanish F4 during 2026.

Formula 1 academies add international talent

The expanded entry list features drivers supported by four Formula 1 development programmes, further strengthening the World Cup’s international appeal.

Red Bull will have Lindblom and Coronel on the grid, while McLaren will be represented by British F4 champion Van Langendonck. Williams junior Bondarev will compete with Theodore Racing, and Mercedes-AMG Junior Programme members Andy Consani and Kenzo Craigie will represent R-ace GP.

Consani and Craigie have both demonstrated their competitiveness in Italian F4 during 2026, securing victories as they continue developing within Mercedes’ junior programme. Their experience will provide R-ace GP with a promising combination for the Macau event.

Several other Italian F4 competitors will also join the field. Evans GP has selected Romanian driver David Cosma-Cristofor, who remains among the championship’s leading contenders, alongside Vietnam’s Hoai Nam Anh Nguyen.

The strong representation from Formula 1 development programmes highlights the importance of the FIA F4 World Cup for young drivers seeking to progress through the international single-seater ladder.

Local and international teams complete 24-car field

Beyond the leading European championship contenders, the entry list features several drivers representing Asian motorsport programmes.

Macau-based Asia Racing Team RFN will field Chinese F4 championship contender Yu Yan alongside local driver Si Lun Vernice Lao. Yu currently occupies third in the Chinese F4 standings, while Lao will represent his home territory at one of the region’s most prestigious motorsport events.

Japan’s HYDRANGEA Kageyama Racing will enter Ryusho Nakazato, who has competed in Japanese F4, alongside Monaco’s Oscar Repetto, who has gained experience in Italian F4 this season.

Argenti Motorsport completes the field with Italian F4 competitor Ludovic Busso and Dutch driver Felipe Reijs. The latter has competed in both Spanish F4 and the FIA-certified Formula 4 Central European Zone Championship during 2026.

Their inclusion ensures that the 24-car field features competitors with experience across several national championships, reflecting the FIA’s ambition to create an international showcase for emerging talent.

Pirro welcomes stronger international competition

FIA Single-Seater Commission President Emanuele Pirro believes the expanded format has already achieved an important objective by attracting leading teams and drivers from across the world.

“The switch to a multi-team entry model for the second FIA F4 World Cup has already paid dividends with internationally renowned teams from 10 countries taking part. The entry list, which expands from 20 to 24 cars for this year, contains plenty of exciting talent for years to come, drivers for whom this will be their first taste of the Guia Circuit as they build their experience before they progress to the next level.

“When we created the FIA F4 World Cup in partnership with the AAMC and Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee, a key aim was for drivers to progress to the FIA FR World Cup, so it’s very significant that four of the top five finishers in the first FIA F4 World Cup last year will be racing in the FIA FR World Cup this year.”

The inaugural event provided an important platform for junior drivers, with French racer Jules Roussel becoming the first FIA F4 World Cup winner in 2025.

His victory demonstrated the potential of the competition, while the progression of four of last year’s top five finishers into the 2026 Formula Regional World Cup reinforces the event’s role within the FIA’s development structure.

FIA F4 World Cup returns to Macau in November

The second FIA F4 World Cup will take place from 19–22 November as part of the 73rd Macau Grand Prix, sharing the weekend with three other FIA-sanctioned competitions.

The FIA Formula Regional World Cup will headline the event with a 26-car field, while the FIA GT World Cup and Kumho FIA TCR World Tour will add further international competition to the programme.

For the Formula 4 drivers, Macau’s combination of long straights, narrow corners and unforgiving barriers will present a significant challenge. Many entrants will experience the Guia Circuit for the first time, making preparation, qualifying performance and consistency particularly important.

The FIA will broadcast the F4 World Cup live and free of charge through its official YouTube channel, allowing international audiences to follow the next generation of single-seater talent.

With 24 drivers representing 21 countries or special administrative regions, the second edition promises to build on the success of 2025 while giving some of the world’s leading Formula 4 competitors an opportunity to secure an international title.
