2026 GTWC Europe | Standings after Round 5 at Misano

The fifth round of the 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) Europe powered by AWS season reshaped the combined and Sprint Cup championship battles as Misano hosted the second short-format event of the campaign.

Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde completed a clean sweep of the weekend’s races for Team WRT, moving into a clear Sprint Cup lead and significantly reducing Winward Racing’s advantage in the Overall Teams’ Championship. However, Lucas Auer and Maro Engel protected their position at the top of the Overall Drivers’ standings by securing two podium finishes.

Meanwhile, Misano did not award Endurance Cup points. Therefore, Winward Racing and its Auer, Engel and Luca Stolz crew continue to lead the long-distance classifications following the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. Garage 59, Team WRT and Kessel Racing also retained their respective Gold, Silver and Bronze Endurance Cup advantages.

2026 GTWC Europe Standings after Round 5 at Misano: Overall

Note: The Overall standings combine points scored in both the Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup.

Winward Racing retained the Overall Teams’ Championship lead after Misano, increasing its total from 89.5 to 108.5 points. Lucas Auer and Maro Engel finished third in both Sprint Cup races, adding 19 points to the Mercedes-AMG squad’s total.

However, Team WRT significantly reduced its deficit after Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde won Race 1 and Race 2. The Belgian team moved from 55 to 89 points and reduced Winward Racing’s advantage from 34.5 to 19.5.

Lionspeed GP retained third on 60.5 points after Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus finished second in Race 1. Garage 59 moved to fourth on 48, while AF Corse climbed into the top five with 41.5.

Auer and Engel strengthened their Overall Drivers’ Championship lead with two Misano podiums, moving from 88 to 107 points. Luca Stolz did not compete at Misano and therefore remained second on 74.

Meanwhile, Weerts and Van der Linde added 33 points through their double victory and surged from fourth to third on 71. Feller and Buus dropped to fourth despite increasing their total to 60.5, while Jordan Pepper completed the top five on 38.

2026 GTWC Europe Standings after Round 5 at Misano: Overall: Gold Cup

Garage 59 strengthened its lead in the combined Gold Cup Teams’ Championship after Louis Prette and Thomas Fleming finished second in both Misano races.

The McLaren squad added 24 points and moved from 97 to 121. AF Corse retained second on 107, while CSA Racing remained third on 98.5. ROWE Racing did not compete at Misano and stayed fourth on 77.

Tresor Attempto Racing made the largest gain after Dylan Pereira and Alex Aka swept the Misano Gold Cup races. Their two victories moved the Audi squad to sixth on 40 points, three behind Boutsen VDS.

Fleming and Prette also extended their advantage in the combined Gold Cup Drivers’ Championship. They moved to 121 points and now lead Simon Gachet by 29.5.

Benjamin Goethe remained third on 85, two ahead of Arthur Rougier and James Kell. Meanwhile, Pereira climbed to ninth on 40, with Aka one point behind in 10th because their earlier programmes produced different totals.

2026 GTWC Europe Standings after Round 5 at Misano: Overall: Silver Cup

Team WRT extended its commanding combined Silver Cup lead at Misano.

Matisse Lismont and Ignacio Montenegro won Race 1 before finishing third in Race 2. Consequently, Team WRT added 26 points and increased its total from 98.5 to 124.5.

Optimum Motorsport retained second on 64 points. However, GetSpeed moved to within half a point after Aurélien Panis and Anthony Bartone secured their first Silver Cup victory of the season in Race 2. GetSpeed and AF Corse now share 63.5 points, although the Mercedes-AMG squad holds third in the official classification.

Lismont and Montenegro also lead the Drivers’ Championship on 124.5. Their advantage over Amaury Cordeel now stands at 56.5 points.

Guilherme Oliveira and Mikey Porter hold third on 62.5, ahead of Gilles Stadsbader and Jeff Machiels on countback. Panis and Bartone climbed to fifth on 60 following their Misano victory.

2026 GTWC Europe Standings after Round 5 at Misano: Overall: Bronze Cup

Kessel Racing retained the combined Bronze Cup Teams’ Championship lead after adding 15.5 points at Misano.

The Ferrari squad increased its total from 87 to 102.5 and now leads Paradine Competition by 28 points. Paradine added 9.5 points to reach 74.5.

However, Winward Racing made the largest gain. Rinat Salikhov and Marvin Dienst followed second place in Race 1 with victory in Race 2, adding 28.5 points and lifting the Mercedes-AMG squad from fourth to third on 68.5.

Rutronik Racing dropped to fourth after remaining on 50, while 2Seas Motorsport climbed to fifth with 47.5.

Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall lead the combined Bronze Cup Drivers’ Championship on 102.5 points. Their advantage over Darren Leung now stands at 28.

Dienst and Salikhov surged from fifth to third on 68.5 after their Misano success. They sit six points behind Leung and 3.5 ahead of James Kellett.

Sprint Cup

Misano hosted the second Sprint Cup round of the 2026 GTWC Europe powered by AWS season after Brands Hatch opened the short-format campaign.

Valentino Rossi claimed his maiden GTWC Europe pole position in Qualifying 1, while Jules Gounon put Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing at the front for Race 2. However, Team WRT converted neither outright pole into victory with the corresponding car.

Instead, Charles Weerts and Kelvin van der Linde won both races in the #32 BMW. They charged from fourth to victory in Race 1 before Team WRT’s exceptional pit work moved them ahead of Gounon and Daniel Juncadella in Race 2.

Consequently, Weerts and Van der Linde now lead the Sprint Cup Drivers’ Championship by 14 points. Team WRT also controls the Teams’ standings, while AF Corse and Team WRT remain at the top of the Gold and Silver Cup classifications respectively.

Team WRT moved to the top of the Sprint Cup Teams’ Championship after scoring heavily with several cars at Misano.

Weerts and Van der Linde supplied maximum race points through their double victory. Meanwhile, Max Hesse and Rossi recovered from a Race 1 penalty to finish sixth before taking fourth on Sunday. Amaury Cordeel and Jordan Pepper also scored in both races with the #31 BMW.

As a result, Team WRT increased its total to 51 points and established a 16.5-point advantage over Winward Racing.

Winward Racing sits second on 34.5 after Lucas Auer and Maro Engel secured third place in both races. Lionspeed GP follows four points further behind after Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus finished second in Race 1 but failed to score from 20th on Sunday.

2Seas Motorsport occupies fourth on 27 points, only half a point ahead of Emil Frey Racing. AF Corse follows in sixth on 25.5, while Garage 59, Boutsen VDS and Tresor Attempto Racing complete the leading nine.

Feller and Buus sit another two points behind in third. Meanwhile, Juncadella climbed to fourth after finishing second alongside Gounon in Race 2, although the driver change within the #3 Mercedes-AMG means they hold separate championship totals.

2026 GTWC Europe standings after Round 5 at Misano: Sprint Cup: Gold Cup

AF Corse retained the Gold Cup Teams’ Championship lead despite Tresor Attempto Racing completing a perfect Misano weekend.

Dylan Pereira claimed Gold Cup pole for Race 1 before sharing both class victories with Alex Aka. The #99 Audi finished fifth overall on Saturday and eighth on Sunday, bringing Tresor Attempto Racing to 35 points.

However, AF Corse scored in both races with Tommaso Mosca and Matias Zagazeta. Their results increased the Italian team’s total to 44 points, leaving it 1.5 ahead of CSA Racing.

Garage 59 sits third on 36 points after Thomas Fleming and Louis Prette finished second in both Misano races. Tresor Attempto Racing follows only one point behind, while VSR completes the top five on 27.5.

Mosca and Zagazeta lead the Gold Cup Drivers’ Championship by eight points. However, only one point separates Prette and Fleming in second from Pereira and Aka in fourth.

Pereira and Aka made the largest gain at Misano by winning both races. Nevertheless, Prette and Fleming’s two runner-up finishes kept the Garage 59 pairing ahead, while Andriolo and Gachet retained third by half a point.

Team WRT strengthened its Silver Cup advantage through another successful weekend for Lismont and Montenegro.

The #30 BMW pairing won Race 1 before completing the podium in third on Sunday. Their 26-point haul increased Team WRT’s total to 56.5 and created a 15.5-point lead over Walkenhorst Motorsport.

Jamie Day and Mateo Villagomez finished second in both races for Walkenhorst, lifting the Aston Martin squad to 41 points.

GetSpeed moved into third after Panis claimed the Race 2 class pole and combined with Anthony Bartone to secure the team’s first Silver Cup victory of the season. Optimum Motorsport follows two points behind, while AF Corse completes the top five.

Lismont and Montenegro leave Misano with a 15.5-point advantage over Day and Villagomez. Meanwhile, Panis and Bartone’s Race 2 victory moved them into third, six points behind the Walkenhorst pairing.

Only two points separate Panis and Bartone from Porter and Oliveira in fourth. Therefore, although Team WRT has established a clear advantage, the fight for the remaining Silver Cup championship positions remains closely contested before Magny-Cours.

Endurance Cup

Misano hosted Round 5 of the combined 2026 GTWC powered by AWS campaign. However, both races formed part of the Sprint Cup and did not award Endurance Cup points.

Therefore, every Endurance Cup classification remains unchanged from the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which served as the third long-distance round after Circuit Paul Ricard and Monza. Winward Racing continues to lead the Overall Endurance Cup, while Garage 59, Team WRT and Kessel Racing remain at the top of the Gold, Silver and Bronze Cup tables respectively.

The Endurance Cup will resume at the Nürburgring before Portimão hosts the final long-distance race of the season. The complete classifications remain available through the official GT World Challenge Europe standings.

2026 GTWC Europe standings after Round 5 at Misano: Endurance Cup: Overall

Winward Racing retains a commanding lead in the Overall Endurance Cup Teams’ Championship with 74 points. The Mercedes-AMG squad scored throughout the opening three long-distance events and holds a 36-point advantage over Team WRT.

Comtoyou Racing remains third on 34 points, one ahead of ROWE Racing. Garage 59 completes the top five on 32 points, while CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa winner Lionspeed GP sits sixth with 30.

Lucas Auer, Maro Engel and Luca Stolz continue to lead the Drivers’ Championship with 74 points. Their advantage stands at 41 points over Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim and Mattia Drudi.

Louis Prette, Thomas Fleming and Benjamin Goethe follow one point further behind in third. Meanwhile, Spa winners Bastian Buus, Ricardo Feller and Thomas Preining remain fourth on 30 points, with Augusto Farfus, Raffaele Marciello and Jake Dennis completing the top five on 26.

AF Corse remains third on 63 points, while CSA Racing sits seven points further behind in fourth. Steller Motorsport completes the leading five on 33 points.

Prette, Goethe and Fleming also retain the Gold Cup Drivers’ Championship lead with 85 points. De Wilde, Klingmann and Tramnitz sit second on 77, while Simon Birch, Frederik Schandorff and Malte Ebdrup occupy third with 63.

Pure Rxcing and AF Corse remain tied on 37 points in third and fourth respectively. Rinaldi Racing follows only two points behind in fifth.

Ignacio Montenegro, Amaury Cordeel and Matisse Lismont continue to lead the Drivers’ standings with 68 points. Their advantage over Øgaard, Levi and Mazzola stands at 28 points.

Aliaksandr Malykhin, Aleksei Nesov and Max Hofer sit third on 37 points. Jeff Machiels, Matias Zagazeta and Gilles Stadsbader share the same total in fourth, while Mathieu Detry remains fifth on 36.

Team WRT gains ground as title battles move towards decisive phase

Misano delivered a major championship boost for Team WRT as Weerts and Van der Linde converted two contrasting races into maximum points.

Their double victory established a 14-point Sprint Cup Drivers’ Championship advantage and moved Team WRT 16.5 points clear of Winward Racing in the corresponding Teams’ standings. Furthermore, the Belgian squad reduced Winward Racing’s Overall Teams’ Championship lead to 19.5 points.

Nevertheless, Auer and Engel remain firmly in control of the Overall Drivers’ Championship. Their two third-place finishes increased their total to 107 points, leaving them 33 ahead of Stolz and 36 clear of Weerts and Van der Linde.

The class battles also remain competitive. Garage 59 leads the combined Gold Cup, Team WRT holds a commanding Silver Cup advantage and Kessel Racing remains ahead in Bronze. However, strong Misano performances from Tresor Attempto Racing, GetSpeed and Winward Racing narrowed several gaps across the Sprint and Overall classifications.

GTWC Europe will continue with another Sprint Cup round at Magny-Cours before the Endurance Cup resumes at the Nürburgring. Consequently, the leading crews must now balance momentum from Misano with the contrasting demands of the championship’s remaining sprint and long-distance events.
