Elite Motorsport secured its second consecutive GB4 Teams’ Championship after completing a remarkable late-season recovery during the final two rounds of the 2026 campaign.

Eddie Ives’ squad ended the seven-round season with seven victories, 17 podium finishes and nine pole positions across 21 races. Elite ultimately accumulated 688 points and finished 86 clear of nearest rival Hillspeed, despite entering the penultimate round at Donington Park fifth in the standings and 35 points away from the championship lead.

Fred Green spearheaded the recovery alongside Matan Achituv and Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso, while Yani Stevenheydens made an immediate impact when he joined the team as a stand-in at Donington. Green and Stevenheydens subsequently won four of the final six races, transforming Elite’s position and ensuring the 2025 Teams’ Champions successfully defended their crown.

Elite Motorsport turns championship around at Donington

Elite arrived at Donington facing a significant deficit, but the penultimate weekend changed the trajectory of its championship challenge.

Stevenheydens joined the team as a replacement for the injured Del Grosso and immediately established himself at the front. On his GB4 debut, the Belgian secured both pole positions at Donington Park, leading teammate Green on both grids.

Green then converted Elite’s front-row advantage into victory in the opening contest. He capitalised on Stevenheydens’ slow start before controlling the restart following a Safety Car and beating championship leader Alex O’Grady by 0.774 seconds. Stevenheydens recovered to third, putting two Elite cars on the podium during his first GB4 race. The result also marked Green’s fourth victory of the season.

Stevenheydens added another victory during the weekend, meaning Elite left Donington firmly involved in the Teams’ Championship battle after entering the round fifth.

A collective effort

Team Principal Ives highlighted the collective effort behind a season that required the team to recover significant ground.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to win the GB4 Teams’ Championship for a second consecutive year and I’m incredibly proud of everyone at Elite Motorsport.

“To have three drivers competing at the front throughout the season and to finish with Fred as runner-up in the Drivers’ Championship, alongside podiums for Matan [Achituv] and Emmilio [Valentino Del Grosso], shows the strength and consistency of the whole team.

“Fred has had an outstanding season, with six wins, seven pole-positions and six fastest laps, and he finished the year with another two wins and three fastest laps at Brands Hatch.

“Matan also finished the season strongly with a superb second-place at Brands while Emmilio continued to show good pace and development throughout the year.

“A huge amount of work goes into achieving a result like this, both at the workshop and at the circuit, so this Teams’ Championship is a reward for everyone involved.

“Winning the Teams’ Championship back-to-back is something we can all be very proud of and it gives us a great platform to build on for next season.”

Green leads Elite’s Brands Hatch title charge

Elite entered the Brands Hatch finale with control of the Teams’ Championship, but several rivals remained close enough to challenge across the final three races.

Green immediately strengthened the team’s position by securing another double pole. Those results took his season total to seven and completed a standout qualifying campaign before he turned his attention towards both the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championships. Green described the double pole as a “perfect way to finish the year” as he prepared for the final three races.

He then converted pole into his fifth victory of the season during Brands Hatch Race 1, keeping Elite at the front of the Teams’ Championship while maintaining his own Drivers’ title challenge.

Green repeated the result in Race 2. He controlled the contest from the front and crossed the line 5.163 seconds clear of O’Grady, completing his second victory of the weekend and sixth of the season. O’Grady’s second place secured the Drivers’ crown, but Green’s Brands Hatch double continued to strengthen Elite’s position in the Teams’ standings.

Achituv adds crucial finale podium

Although Green provided the majority of Elite’s points at the front, Achituv also ended his campaign strongly.

The Israeli driver remained close to the leading group throughout the Brands Hatch weekend before delivering his best result in the reverse-grid finale. Achituv pressured Arden Motorsport’s Michael Koh throughout Race 3 and eventually finished second, adding another podium to Elite’s season tally.

Del Grosso also contributed throughout the campaign and returned at Brands Hatch following his Donington absence. Together, the three full-season drivers helped Elite add 141 points during the final round.

That haul transformed what had entered the weekend as a 17-point lead into a comfortable 86-point championship margin. The final GB4 standings placed Elite on 688 points, ahead of Hillspeed on 602 and Fortec Motorsports on 598.

Back-to-back GB4 titles for Elite Motorsport

Elite’s second Teams’ Championship builds on the breakthrough success it achieved in 2025.

The Norfolk squad won both the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championships during the previous campaign, with Ary Bansal securing the Drivers’ crown. Its 2026 title defence followed a considerably different path, however, as Elite had to recover from fifth in the standings with just two rounds remaining.

Green played the leading role in that turnaround. He ended his rookie single-seater campaign with six victories, seven pole positions and six fastest laps before finishing second in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship on 412 points.

Achituv finished 10th in the Drivers’ standings after his late Brands Hatch podium, while Del Grosso completed the championship in 11th. Stevenheydens’ short but productive Donington appearance also proved decisive, with his poles, podium and victory helping launch Elite’s late-season surge.

Ultimately, four wins across the final six races turned a 35-point deficit into an 86-point championship-winning advantage. The official GB4 announcement therefore confirmed Elite Motorsport as back-to-back Teams’ Champions, completing another title-winning season for Ives and his squad.
