Qualifying 1 for the 2026 Formula E Monaco E-Prix got underway on the iconic streets of Monte Carlo, with drivers fighting for a place in the Duels after a busy pair of practice sessions. After Nyck De Vries topped both FP1 and FP2, attention turned to who could deliver when it mattered most. Though Zane Maloney won’t join the grid as the Lola Yamaha team still had to repair his car after his earlier crash in FP2.
Group A opened the session, with drivers gradually building speed around the full Monaco layout. Track evolution played a key role as lap times continued to improve, while several drivers pushed the limits through the tight street circuit. In the end, Pascal Wehrlein set the benchmark with a 1:28.832, followed by Maximilian Günther, Nico Müller, and Dan Ticktum, who all secured their places in the Duels. Though Günther and Sébastien Buemi were noted for an incident between them, which will be investigated after Qualifying 1 of the Monaco E-Prix.
Group B followed with more pressure as the track continued to get faster. Nick Cassidy was among the early pace-setters, before De Vries responded with a strong lap of 1:28.799. Oliver Rowland seemed to have some problems as he didn’t set a competitive lap time until the last minute of Group B. Though Rowland does improve his time, it wasn’t enough to go through to the duels. In the end, Mitch Evans, De Vries, Antonio Felix Da Costa and Joel Eriksson advanced into the duels.
