Enzo Hallman has become the third winner of the 2026 Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award after setting the quickest racing lap during GB4’s Donington Park round. The Hillspeed driver recorded a 1m29.660s lap during Sunday afternoon’s reversed-grid finale, beating the fastest times produced across the weekend’s other two contests.
Hallman achieved the benchmark during an impressive recovery from 24th on the grid to fifth, strengthening his status as one of the leading contenders during the opening three rounds of the season.
Hallman sets fastest lap during 19-place charge
Hallman faced a challenging starting position in Race 3 after the championship reversed the leading portion of the grid. However, the Swedish driver made rapid progress during the 20-minute contest. He negotiated two starts, an opening-lap red flag and a Safety Car interruption before gaining 19 positions.
Hallman reached fifth by the chequered flag and completed his fastest lap on the final tour. His 1m29.660s effort proved quicker than every other racing lap recorded during the Donington Park event.
The recovery also represented the largest gain of any driver in Race 3. Hallman finished behind winner Joshua McLean, Demitri Nolan, Luke Hilton and Alex O’Grady after beginning from the final row.
Race 1 pace strengthens Hallman’s award claim
Hallman had already demonstrated his race pace during Saturday’s opening contest. The Hillspeed driver started 19th following amendments to the qualifying classification and climbed to eighth. During that recovery, he set the fastest lap with a 1m30.877s.
Therefore, Hallman recorded the quickest lap in two of the weekend’s three races. His Race 3 benchmark ultimately secured the Sunoco award by more than seven-tenths of a second.
The performances also followed a competitive qualifying session in which Hallman placed third on fastest laps and second on the second-fastest-lap classification originally used to determine the Race 2 grid.
Hilton provides closest challenge
Luke Hilton became the only other driver to set a fastest race lap during the weekend. The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver posted a 1m30.440s during Race 2, in which he progressed from eighth to finish second behind Dayton Coulthard.
Hilton’s effort placed him between Hallman’s Race 3 and Race 1 benchmarks. However, it remained 0.780s slower than the Hillspeed driver’s award-winning time.
The fastest lap formed part of Hilton’s breakthrough Donington Park weekend. He claimed his maiden GB4 victory in Race 1 before adding second and third places in Sunday’s contests.
Third driver receives 2026 Sunoco award
GB4 control fuel supplier Sunoco presents the award to the driver who records the fastest racing lap at each event. Hallman follows Elite Motorsport’s Fred Green and KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady as a winner during the opening three rounds.
Green earned the first award with a 2m01.643s lap at Silverstone. O’Grady followed with a 1m34.827s benchmark at Oulton Park before Hallman produced the season’s latest winning performance at Donington.
2026 Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award winners
- Silverstone — Fred Green — 2m01.643s
- Oulton Park — Alex O’Grady — 1m34.827s
- Donington Park — Enzo Hallman — 1m29.660s
Hallman’s award adds further recognition to a weekend in which he repeatedly demonstrated his ability to recover through the field. Although his starting positions limited his chances of challenging for victory, two fastest laps and a 19-place charge ensured he remained one of Donington Park’s standout performers.
