Group 1
Callum Hedge was on the pace immediately as he clocked a 1:14.784, just over a tenth slower than his best practice time. A tour later, Lochie Hughes beat that by 0.001. Rowe, Roe and Koolen completed the top 5 with 5 minutes left.
No improvements were made from there as the best laps came on the first 3 to 4 push attempts.
It guaranteed Lochie Hughes a front row start for race 1 later on Friday.

Group 2
Dennis Hauger logged a 1:15.508 in the early stages, a tenth quicker than teammate Salvador de Alba. Pierson, Collet and Sceats completed the top 5 as they continued to get up to speed. On the next push it was Caio Collet who moved into P1 as he did a 1:15.146, half a tenth ahead of the Norwegian.
The championship leader responded with a 1:15.071 but was still nowhere near the Group 1 benchmark. After a cool lap he logged a 1:15.008 but was still over 0.2s off Lochie Hughes’s time.
The Australian starts on pole for race 1 later and race 2 tomorrow, beating out his Andretti teammate for both the fastest and second best lap times.
Juan Manuel Correa was less than a second off top spot on debut with HMD Motorsports.
