Round 10 of the 2025 Indy NXT season is in the books as race 1 at Laguna Seca has been completed, full report and results below.
In qualifying earlier on Saturday, Caio Collet claimed pole for both races, with title favourite and championship leader Dennis Hauger joining him on the front row.

Utter carnage ensues
The first lap was a complete mess behind the top 4.
First up, Murray tagged Hughes into turn 1, with the Aussie driver spinning Koolen around. In a separate incident, Correa hit Roe up the rear and spun the Irish driver as well. There was damage to the left rear corner of the Andretti but eventually returned to the track a lap down. Unsurprisingly, the former F2 driver got a drive-through penalty.
Then on the entry to turn 4, Jordan Missig ended up in the wall as he was hit from behind by Salvador de Alba, breaking his right rear suspension. The Mexican ended up in stuck in the gravel himself.
A few metres further up, Murray spun as he looked to pass Hedge. Max Taylor took to the gravel to avoid them but picked up damage as well.
The restart sees a complete lack of action
When the race resumed on lap 5, Collet led Hauger, Pierson, Rowe, Hedge, Hughes, Smith, Sceats, Aron and Miller. The Brazilian immediately pulled out a 1.5 to the Norwegian driver.
With 13 laps to go, Seb Murray’s race was over as his car developed a mechanical problem.
Running in 8th, Liam Sceats had a snap on the entry to turn 6 and went through the gravel. He dropped three spots in the process.
In the closing stages, Collet started to struggle with his rear tyres and Hauger closed in.
As Tommy Smith locked up into turn 1, Aron got through for P7. The tyres of the Australian fell off a cliff at the end and lost places to Miller, Allaer and Sceats and Koolen.
Off camera, Miller, Sceats and Allaer all overtook Aron in the last couple of laps as the CGR driver fell to 10th.
Out front, Caio Collet held off Hauger to take his second win of 2025 by less than half a second, and he moved into P2 in the championship. Josh Pierson drove a strong and lonely race to 3rd.
Rowe, Hedge, Hughes, Miller, Sceats, Allaer and Aron rounded out the top 10.
Such was Tommy Smith’s dropoff at the end, Hailie Deegan got passed at the end for P12.
