Mahindra is hopeful for a positive result in upcoming Monaco E-Prix double header, signalling the halfway point of the 2025/2026 Formula E season. Berlin had had mixed emotions for the Indian team’s driver duo.

In fact, Edoardo Mortara further extended his five races straight in the points streak by securing a Top 5 result on Saturday and a P7 on Sunday. On the other side of the garage, however, Nyck De Vries was forced to retire following early onset contact during Round 8.

Mahindra driver De Vries hopeful ahead of next Formula E rounds in Monaco

The Formula E champion self-evaluated his 2025/2026 Formula E season with Mahindra ahead of the upcoming Monaco double header, admitting that so far it has not lived up to his expectations. In fact, De Vries was only twice in the points this year, even snatching a P5 in Miami, while he wasn’t able to start the first Jeddah round due to technical issues.

Monaco was a positive weekend for us last year, so going back there with that memory is encouraging. We need to build on it. This season hasn’t been smooth on the results side, but the pace has been there in several races, including Berlin.”

In this championship you have to accept that things won’t always go your way and keep doing the work. If we put together a clean weekend with everything we know about the track from last season, we have a real chance to bring something home.”

Mortara hopes to extend his positive result streak

The Italian-Swiss driver is hoping to build on the strong pace he has been able to show thus far in the current season in the Principality too. However, Mortara does not hold as much confidence as De Vries, acknowledging his sub-optimal Monegasque track record.

Monaco hasn’t been the kindest place for me historically, but we go there this year with a strong package, and that’s what matters. In the championship, the team has been doing a pretty good job. I’m normally quite self-critical, but we’ve been delivering consistently, which is what we need.”

Race 2 in Berlin was not what we wanted in terms of execution, so we have to come back from that. It’s a long championship, and the focus has to stay on the next race, not on the standings.”

Mahindra Team Principal Bertrand discusses upcoming Formula E round in Monaco

After a double-faceted racing weekend for the Indian outlet, the experienced TP summed up the highlights of the past racing weekend, marking the expected pivotal factors for the rounds to come.

Monaco is one of the most demanding weekends of the year, and our approach there is the same we’ve had at every weekend this season. The team has built a solid foundation in the first part of the year, and Edo briefly leading the championship after Race 1 in Berlin was a signal that the work is paying off.”

That said, Race 2 in Berlin showed there is still room to improve, and Monaco is a track where any small mistake costs you. The focus is on staying disciplined and bringing back consistent points. If we keep doing what we’ve been doing, without getting overenthusiastic or too disappointed, we’ll be in a good position by the end of the season.”
