Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak delivered a strong comeback drive at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, securing a valuable P9 in the F3 Spanish GP Sprint Race and scoring his first points since Round 1. The result brings a much-needed boost to both the Thai driver and Campos Racing after a challenging start to the 2025 season.

Relief after a difficult stint without points

Inthraphuvasak has shown promising pace throughout the season but has struggled to convert that speed into points—until now. Despite a difficult Qualifying session that left him starting down in P19 after post-session penalties, the 19-year-old kept his focus on delivering a clean, measured race.

“Finally, back in the points after Round 1. Honestly, it’s been a really tough start to the season for me. The pace has always been super strong, but we’ve never really managed to put it together in these last few rounds. Here in Qualifying, we had a really bad session. P2 after the first push and very strong but then a mistake on both sets at the end on my side so we didn’t improve. Then we ended up in P15 but after the penalties, P19, so it was a super tough start to the weekend.”

Keeping it clean amid chaos

With several cars tangled up in a chaotic race start—labelled one of the most dramatic of the season—Inthraphuvasak’s ability to avoid trouble proved crucial. From there, he steadily worked his way through the field.

“But we knew heading into the race that our pace was going to be super strong. So I was trying to make up as many positions as I could. I managed to keep the nose clean in the beginning and in the first lap. As everyone saw, it was one of the most chaotic race starts of the year. So I managed to keep myself out of trouble and the race pace was super strong by the end. I managed to overtake a few guys and ended up in the points, so I’m happy with the race today.” added Inthraphuvasak.

Favourite move and a confidence boost

One of Inthraphuvasak’s most notable moments came with a brave overtake on Bruno Del Pino into Turn 5—executed with precision and confidence. It was a clear sign of the Campos driver’s renewed self-belief.

“I’d definitely pick the last one in Turn 5. I think on TV it looked a bit risky, but I think it was a good move. I kept it clean so that one was definitely my favourite from the race.”

The Thai driver called the result a “great feeling,” especially after a string of unlucky races that left him out of the points. His performance in Spain proved both his racecraft and Campos’ race-day pace.

A car that grew stronger with time

Though the early Safety Car period momentarily disrupted his rhythm, Inthraphuvasak’s patience and adaptability paid off as the car improved over the course of the race.

“I think the race came to us. We had that long period of Safety Car in the beginning. I decided to push very hard after that restart and it kind of hindered my performance a bit. I struggled a bit in the middle of the race, but our pace came back by the end.”

He added, “I think with a few more laps, I could have gone one or two positions higher and maybe even further forward.”

With momentum finally back on his side, Inthraphuvasak looked ahead to the Feature Race and the rest of the season with renewed focus.

“So now I’m really looking forward to the Feature Race tomorrow. It’s a longer race so I think with our really strong race pace, I can do the same or even better tomorrow.”

In a weekend where staying out of trouble was half the battle, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak proved he has the racecraft and resilience to fight back—and reminded the paddock why he belongs in Formula 3.
