Ugo Ugochukwu retained the lead of the 2026 F3 Drivers’ Championship standings after finishing third in the Barcelona-Catalunya Feature Race. Still, team-mate Théophile Naël emerged as his nearest challenger in the standings following his maiden victory.
Naël converted his third consecutive pole position into a race win and climbed from fifth to second in the standings. Meanwhile, Hiyu Yamakoshi’s second-place finish and fastest lap moved him into seventh, while Campos Racing extended its advantage in the Teams’ Championship after scoring 48 points across the Barcelona Feature Race.
Ugochukwu retains the Championship lead
Ugochukwu entered the Feature Race level with Freddie Slater on 43 points after failing to score in Saturday’s Sprint Race. However, the Campos Racing driver started from the front row alongside Naël, while Slater faced a more difficult race from further back.
Hiyu Yamakoshi passed Ugochukwu during the opening phase before the American settled into third. He remained in the final podium position through the rest of the race and added 15 points to his total.
Ugochukwu therefore left Barcelona with 58 points and retained the Drivers’ Championship lead. Nevertheless, his advantage now stands at only six points after Naël’s victory brought his team-mate considerably closer.
Naël surges from fifth to second with maiden victory
Naël made the largest move among the leading Championship contenders after finally converting pole position into victory.
The Frenchman started from the front for the third consecutive Feature Race and initially came under pressure from Yamakoshi into Turn 1. Yamakoshi ran wide during his challenge and returned the lead, allowing Naël to regain control before managing the remainder of the race from the front.
Naël earned 25 points for the victory and two for pole position. Combined with the three points he collected for eighth in the Sprint Race, he scored 30 points across the Barcelona weekend.
His Feature Race haul lifted him from fifth to second in the Drivers’ Championship with 52 points. Consequently, Naël now sits six points behind Ugochukwu and four ahead of Bruno Del Pino.
Del Pino remains third after another points finish
Del Pino continued his consistent start to the season by finishing sixth for Van Amersfoort Racing.
The Spaniard added eight points to the five he earned during the Sprint Race, taking his Barcelona weekend total to 13. He consequently moved from 40 to 48 points and retained third in the Championship.
However, Naël’s victory pushed Del Pino down one position relative to the order after Saturday’s race. He now trails the Campos driver by four points and holds a one-point advantage over Slater.
Slater drops from joint leader to fourth
Slater began Sunday level with Ugochukwu at the top of the standings, but a five-second penalty limited his Feature Race result.
The Trident driver received the sanction for leaving the track and gaining an advantage on the opening lap. He eventually finished eighth and collected four points, increasing his total from 43 to 47.
As a result, Slater dropped from second to fourth in the official order. He sits one point behind Del Pino, five behind Naël and 11 adrift of Ugochukwu after the third round.
Despite losing ground on the Campos pair, Slater remains firmly involved in the title contest after scoring in five of the opening six races.
Badoer strengthens fifth with P4 finish
Brando Badoer followed his restored Sprint Race point with fourth place in the Feature Race.
The Rodin Motorsport driver started from the second row and remained inside the leading group throughout the race. His fourth-place finish added 12 points and took his Championship total to 41.
Badoer retained fifth in the standings but reduced the gap to Slater to six points. He also moved 13 points clear of Enzo Deligny, who now occupies sixth.
Deligny moves into sixth after strong Barcelona weekend
Deligny completed a productive weekend for Van Amersfoort Racing by following fifth in the Sprint Race with the same result in the Feature Race.
The Frenchman earned six points on Saturday and another 10 on Sunday. Therefore, his 16-point weekend increased his Championship total from 12 before the round to 28.
Deligny climbed from seventh after the Sprint Race to sixth following the Feature Race. He now sits five points ahead of team-mate Yamakoshi, although Badoer remains 13 points further up the order.
Yamakoshi makes major jump with maiden podium
Yamakoshi produced one of the most significant Championship gains after securing his maiden F3 podium.
The Van Amersfoort Racing driver started third and challenged Naël for the lead into the opening corner. Although he ran wide and returned the position, he remained ahead of Ugochukwu and brought the car home in second.
Yamakoshi also secured the fastest lap point, giving him 19 points from the Feature Race. Combined with the four he scored on Saturday, he left Barcelona with 23 points.
The result lifted him from 18th after the Sprint Race to seventh in the Drivers’ Championship. He now sits five points behind Deligny and three ahead of Gerrard Xie.
Xie remains eighth despite missing Feature Race points
Xie entered Sunday in sixth after completing the Sprint Race podium. However, he failed to score after finishing 15th in the Feature Race.
The DAMS Lucas Oil driver consequently remained on 20 points. Deligny and Yamakoshi both moved ahead of him, dropping Xie to eighth in the standings.
Nevertheless, he retains a two-point advantage over Taito Kato, who collected two points for ninth place.
Rivera joins Clerot on 16 points
Ernesto Rivera recovered from his Sprint Race retirement to finish seventh in the Feature Race.
The Campos Racing driver added six points and moved from 10 to 16 points. That total placed him 11th in the official standings, level with Pedro Clerot.
Clerot failed to score after finishing 16th, while the official order placed him 10th ahead of Rivera on countback. Taito Kato occupies ninth with 18 points after adding two points to his total.
Gładysz claims final point and moves ahead of Giusti
Maciej Gładysz collected the final point after finishing 10th for ART Grand Prix.
The Polish driver had started 17th after serving a three-place grid penalty for impeding Fernando Barrichello during Qualifying. His recovery moved him onto 14 points and lifted him to 12th in the Championship.
Gładysz consequently moved one point ahead of Alessandro Giusti, who remained on 13 after finishing 17th. Sprint Race winner James Wharton also failed to add to his 11 points after crossing the line in 12th, leaving him 14th in the standings.
Campos extends Teams’ Championship advantage
Campos Racing scored the largest team haul in the Feature Race as Naël, Ugochukwu and Rivera all finished inside the top seven.
Naël contributed 27 points through victory and pole position, while Ugochukwu added 15 and Rivera scored six. Their combined 48-point haul moved Campos from 78 points after the Sprint Race to 126.
The Spanish outfit now leads Van Amersfoort Racing by 27 points in the Teams’ Championship standings after the 2026 Barcelona F3 Feature Race. The Dutch team also enjoyed an impressive Feature Race, with Yamakoshi, Deligny and Del Pino combining for 37 points and increasing its total to 99.
Rodin Motorsport moved ahead of Trident into third after Badoer added 12 points to the team’s total. Rodin now holds 57 points, while Trident follows only one point behind after Slater scored four.
ART Grand Prix increased its total to 34 through Gładysz’s point and remained fifth. Meanwhile, MP Motorsport, DAMS Lucas Oil and PREMA Racing failed to score in the Feature Race and stayed on 21, 20 and 14 points respectively.
