The 2026 GB4 Championship continues at Oulton Park this weekend, where a packed 29-car field will tackle one of the UK’s most challenging and picturesque circuits. The huge entry marks the largest contemporary slicks-and-wings grid to compete on Oulton Park’s full international layout since the British Formula 3 season opener back in 2007.
Following an action-packed opening round at Silverstone, the championship battle already looks fiercely competitive. Furthermore, with drivers from 12 different nations represented on the grid, the second round of the campaign promises another thrilling weekend of racing.
Record grid prepares for crucial second round of 2026 GB4 Silverstone
The GB4 field heads to Cheshire carrying strong momentum after an entertaining Silverstone opener that immediately established several leading contenders. Elite Motorsport’s Fred Green arrives at Oulton Park leading the championship after securing two victories during the opening weekend.
The McLaren-backed British driver currently holds a 10-point advantage over Hillspeed’s Enzo Hallman, who impressed with a podium finish at Silverstone. Importantly, Hallman already boasts winning experience at Oulton Park after his dramatic victory at the venue last season.
Meanwhile, Douglas Motorsport’s Jason Smyth sits only one point behind Hallman in third position after an impressive first slicks-and-wings weekend. The Irishman adapted quickly to GB4 machinery and immediately emerged as one of the leading rookie contenders.
KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady also opened his season strongly with a podium finish at Silverstone, while Dayton Coulthard secured Douglas Motorsport’s second victory of the opening round in front of former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard.
Consequently, Douglas Motorsport leads the teams’ standings heading into the weekend with a 20-point advantage over Hillspeed.
Midfield battles already taking shape
Behind the early championship leaders, several drivers continue to establish themselves as serious contenders across both the outright and rookie standings.
Thomas Ingram Hill leads the Fortec Motorsports challenge after banking two top-four finishes at Silverstone, while Elite Motorsport’s Matan Achituv enjoyed an impressive GB4 debut that concluded with a podium result.
Pace Performance’s Josh McLean also enjoyed one of his strongest GB4 weekends to date and currently occupies eighth position in the standings ahead of Hillspeed’s Connor Willis.
Meanwhile, Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing’s Luke Hilton remains one of the most closely watched drivers heading into Oulton Park. The British driver originally secured pole position starts for the first two Silverstone races before yellow flag infringements dropped him to the back of the grid.
Even so, Hilton produced remarkable recovery drives from 29th position, climbing through the field to finish eighth, 11th and 20th across the three races.
Elsewhere, Elite Motorsport’s Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso secured an emotional podium on debut, while Scorpio Motorsport’s Romuald Bocquet crossed the finish line first in race three before a jump-start penalty denied him victory.
His teammate Archie Davies still secured a podium finish for the team, while Pace Performance rookie Torrin Byrne impressed during his single-seater debut with two ninth-place finishes.
Rookie and Female categories continue to intensify
The Rookie battle already looks highly competitive after the opening round of the season. Fortec Motorsports driver Franciszek Cegielski currently leads the Rookie standings after a composed and consistent Silverstone weekend.
Douglas Motorsport’s Conor Grant and Arden Motorsport duo Charlie Myers and Michael Koh also remain firmly in contention heading into round two.
Meanwhile, KMR Sport’s Lily-May Watkins heads the female standings after a significantly improved performance during the opening event. Importantly, the highest-scoring female driver this season will earn a €50,000 contribution towards a potential F1 Academy seat next year.
Fox Motorsport’s Jasser Iskander and Nitrous ADM Racing’s Caitlyn McDaniel continue to battle closely in the Rookie classification, while Jordyn Martin, Solenn Amrouche and Holly Miall remain in contention for female honours.

Oulton Park set to provide another dramatic 2026 GB4 weekend
Oulton Park’s narrow layout, fast direction changes and unforgiving barriers regularly create some of the most exciting racing of the season. Consequently, Qualifying performance and race starts could prove decisive across the weekend.
At the same time, the enormous 29-car field increases the likelihood of intense wheel-to-wheel action throughout the grid. With established contenders, rising rookies and several drivers carrying momentum from Silverstone, the second round of the 2026 GB4 Championship looks set to deliver another spectacular weekend of racing.
Additionally, fans attending the event will once again benefit from open paddock access throughout the weekend. A dedicated autograph session on Monday will also allow supporters to meet the championship’s rising stars at one of Britain’s most iconic circuits.
