With the 2025 season set to get underway in Melbourne, the 30 drivers and 10 teams set to make up the 2025 FIA Formula 3 grid have been set. This year sees the return of DAMS Lucas Oil to the F3 grid. They replace Jenzer Motorsport which, after 15 years in F3 and its predecessor GP3, leaves the series to prioritise its F4 efforts.
The 2025 FIA Formula 3 season will see the return of several drivers some with the team they competed in 2024 and some with a new team. However, there will be a multitude of new faces, with many drivers stepping up from Formula Regional, Eurocup-3 and other series. Some drivers have even returned after trying their hand at endurance or sportscar racing.
Regardless of where they come from, all 30 drivers will hope to compete for the championship title, though many will be careful to temper their expectations, especially in the early rounds of the season.
PREMA Racing
After securing the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Teams Championship, PREMA Racing enters the 2025 season with an all-new driver line-up. Gabriele Minì, Arvid Lindblad, and Dino Beganovic have stepped up to Formula 2 after finishing second, fourth, and sixth in last year’s standings. To defend its title, PREMA will field two rookies—Ugo Ugochukwu and Brando Badoer, both part of the McLaren Driver Development Programme—alongside the more experienced Noel León.
Brando Badoer (Car 1)
Brando Badoer will take the wheel of Car 1 as he moves up to FIA Formula 3. The Italian driver, a McLaren junior, finished fifth in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) with Van Amersfoort Racing. He also competed in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, placing 10th in 2024 and improving to fourth in 2025 with PHM Racing, formerly known as PHM AIX Racing.
Noel León (Car 2)
In Car 2, Noel León returns for his second F3 season, aiming to build on his impressive rookie campaign. The Mexican driver secured four podium finishes with Van Amersfoort Racing in 2024, finishing 10th in the standings. Now, with PREMA Racing, León is targeting his maiden F3 victory while helping the team defend its championship.
Ugo Ugochukwu (Car 3)
Rounding out the PREMA line-up in Car 3 is Ugo Ugochukwu. The American driver, also a McLaren junior, has been part of PREMA’s junior ranks since 2022, competing in ADAC and Italian F4. He claimed the 2023 Euro 4 Championship title and made history in 2024 by winning the Macau Grand Prix with R-ace GP, becoming the first American victor since Bob Earl in 1981. After finishing third in the 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship, Ugochukwu now steps up to FIA Formula 3, ready to make his mark at the season opener.
Trident
After a strong 2024 season that saw Leonardo Fornaroli win the Drivers’ Championship following a tight battle with Gabriele Minì, Trident enters 2025 with an all-new driver line-up. The Italian team, which finished second in the 2024 Teams’ Championship, aims to build on its success with a fresh trio of drivers.
Noah Strømsted (Car 4)
Leading the line-up is Noah Strømsted, who makes a full-time move to FIA Formula 3 after finishing sixth in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA). The Danish driver, a Mercedes Junior Team member, endured a challenging debut with Campos Racing at Monza but now looks to establish himself at Trident. He will take the wheel of Car 4.
Rafael Câmara (Car 5)
Joining him is fellow rookie Rafael Câmara, a Ferrari Driver Academy member, who has enjoyed a successful junior career with PREMA Racing. The Brazilian finished runner-up in the 2022 F4 UAE Championship before securing third-place finishes in the Italian and ADAC F4 Championships that same year. In 2023, he stepped up to Formula Regional, finishing third in the Middle East Championship with Mumbai Falcons and fifth in the European Championship. Câmara continued to impress in 2024, claiming another third-place finish in the Middle East before securing the European title. Now, he sets his sights on the 2025 FIA F3 Championship, driving Car 5.
Charlie Wurz (Car 6)
Rounding out the team’s line-up is Charlie Wurz, who switches to Trident after a difficult 2024 season with Jenzer Motorsport. As the most experienced driver on the team, Wurz aims to lead Trident’s charge while improving on his rookie campaign. He will pilot Car 6, determined to fight for stronger results in 2025.
ART Grand Prix
Laurens van Hoepen (Car 7)
Unlike PREMA and Trident, ART Grand Prix will have a familiar face in Laurens van Hoepen. The Dutch driver, who finished 13th in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season, returns for a second campaign with the French team, continuing a partnership that began in 2022. After securing three podium finishes last season, van Hoepen now targets his maiden F3 victory while helping ART Grand Prix fight for the 2025 Teams’ Championship. Driving Car 7, he will also serve as the team’s most experienced driver, guiding two rookies alongside him.
Tuuka Taponen (Car 7)
One of those rookies is Tuukka Taponen, a Ferrari Driver Academy member, who joins ART Grand Prix after an impressive 2024 season with R-ace GP. The Finnish driver claimed the Formula Regional Middle East Championship title before securing third place in the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA). Although his early F3 debut at Spa-Francorchamps ended in disappointment after a feature race retirement, Taponen enters the 2025 season eager to make his mark. He will take the wheel of Car 8.
James Wharton (Car 8)
Completing ART Grand Prix’s line-up is James Wharton, who steps up to F3 after finishing runner-up in the 2024 FRECA season with PREMA Racing. The Australian made his F3 debut at Silverstone in 2024, replacing the suspended Martinius Stenshorne at Hitech Grand Prix (now Hitech TGR), but failed to score points. Now, Wharton looks to prove himself in a full-time seat, aiming to replicate past successes, including his 2023 F4 UAE Championship title.
Campos Racing
Campos Racing heads into the 2025 FIA Formula 3 season with an experienced driver line-up, as all three of its drivers have previously completed at least one season in the category.
Mari Boya (Car 10)
Leading their line-up is Mari Boya, who continues with Campos after finishing 15th in the 2024 standings. The Spanish driver previously raced in the 2023 F3 season with MP Motorsport, where he placed 17th. Last year, he secured his maiden victory at home, in the Barcelona Sprint Race, and now, driving Car 10, he will be aiming to build on that success with more trips to the top step of the podium.
Tasanapol Intraphuvasak (Car 11)
Joining him is Tasanapol Intraphuvasak, who moves to Campos Racing after a difficult rookie season with AIX Racing. While the Thai driver claimed a sprint race podium in Hungary, he struggled for consistency and finished 24th in the championship with just nine points. Now entering his second year in F3, Intraphuvasak, piloting Car 11, looks to make significant improvements as the least experienced driver in the team.
Nikola Tsolov (Car 12)
Rounding out the line-up is Nikola Tsolov, the “Bulgarian Lion,” who switches to Campos Racing after two seasons with ART Grand Prix. After a difficult 2023 campaign that saw him finish 22nd with just six points, Tsolov rebounded in 2024, climbing to 11th in the standings despite missing the Spa-Francorchamps round due to suspension. With three victories last season, the Bulgarian driver, now in Car 12, will be aiming to return to the top step of the F3 podium in 2025.
Hitech TGR
Martinius Stenshorne (Car 14)
After finishing 18th in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight, Martinius Stenshorne returns for a second season with the British team, now competing as Hitech TGR following its new collaboration with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s TGR-DC junior programme. The Norwegian driver, a member of the McLaren Driver Development Programme, showed flashes of brilliance last season, claiming his maiden F3 victory in the Melbourne Sprint Race and securing a runner-up finish in Austria. Driving Car 14, Stenshorne will be determined to maximize his performance in 2025. With ambitions to reach Formula 1, he will aim to impress Formula 2 teams while proving himself worthy of McLaren’s continued investment.
Joshua Dufek (Car 15)
Stenshorne will be joined at Hitech TGR by Joshua Dufek, who takes the wheel of Car 15 after a challenging 2024 season with AIX Racing. Despite showing promise in lower categories, Dufek struggled to make an impact in Formula 3, finishing 18th in the Drivers’ Championship with just a single point—earned from a P10 finish in the Monza Feature Race. Now entering his second full season in F3, the Swiss-Austrian driver will be acutely importance of delivering strong performances and climbing the grid. With his future in open-wheel racing potentially at stake, Dufek will be determined to prove his skills behind the wheel.

Though the rookie in the team, Xie should not be underestimated. The Chinese driver is no stranger to success, having won the 2022 Formula Renault Super Challenge and F4 Chinese Championship. He also finished the Macau Grand Prix runner-up. With a fresh opportunity awaiting him at Hitech TGR, Xie will be eager to prove himself a competitive force in F3.
MP Motorsport
Tim Tramnitz (Car 17)
After a mixed 2024 rookie season in F3, Red Bull Junior Tim Tramnitz returns to MP Motorsport with a renewed focus on claiming the F3 championship title. Though the German driver claimed a maiden win in the Monza sprint race and podiums in the Bahrain feature and Imola and Monza feature races, he struggled to maintain his consistency, and ultimately finished ninth in the championship. As the only MP Motorsport driver with F3 experience, Tramnitz will be looking to apply the lessons learned from his rookie season to not only challenge for the Drivers’ Championship but also lead his team as they compete for the Teams’ Championship. He will take the wheel of Car 17 in 2025.
Bruno del Pino (Car 18)
After securing third place in the 2024 Eurocup-3 Championship, Bruno Del Pino earned a well-deserved promotion to F3 with MP Motorsport, the team he has raced with since 2023. The 2022 French F4 Champion, Alessandro Giusti, will complete MP Motorsport’s 2025 F3 line-up, stepping up to the championship after a strong fourth-place finish in the 2024 FRECA season with ART Grand Prix. With four years of open-wheel racing experience and a history of podium finishes, Giusti, driving Car 19, will aim to replicate this success in his rookie F3 season. As a member of the Williams Racing Driver Academy, he will also hope to prove his talent behind the wheel and follow in the footsteps of fellow Academy drivers Franco Colapinto and Luke Browning, both of whom have secured opportunities to showcase their skills on the Formula 1 stage.

Santiago Ramos (Car 21)
Naël will be joined by Santiago Ramos, who brings valuable F3 experience to Van Amersfoort Racing. After a mixed 2024 season with Trident, the Mexican driver makes the switch for 2025, looking to build on his past performances. Though new to the team, Ramos’ experience could be a key asset as VAR pushes to compete at the front of the grid. He will take the wheel of Car 21.
Ivan Domingues (Car 22)
Completing the team’s line-up is Ivan Domingues, who steps up to F3 after securing a 10th-place finish in the 2024 FRECA season. Callum Voisin (Car 23)
Despite claiming his maiden F3 feature race win at Spa-Francorchamps in 2024, Callum Voisin‘s debut season proved to be a challenging one. The British driver struggled in the opening six rounds and again in the season finale at Monza, finishing lower in the standings than expected. Now entering his second year with Rodin Motorsport, Voisin, driving Car 23, will be determined to turn his fortunes around and deliver the consistency needed to solidify his place in open-wheel racing.

After an impressive runner-up finish in the 2024 Eurocup-3 Championship, Javier Sagrera makes the step up to FIA Formula 3, bringing his strong open-wheel racing pedigree to AIX Racing. With momentum on his side and a history of competitive performances, the Spanish driver will be eager to start his F3 campaign on a strong note when the season kicks off in Melbourne, piloting Car 26.
Nicola Marinangeli (Car 27)
Joining Sagrera is Nicola Marinangeli, who makes his return to single-seaters after two successful seasons in endurance racing. Though his last open-wheel campaign was an incomplete 2022 Euroformula Open season, the Italian driver will be keen to quickly adapt to the demands of F3 while expanding his skill set as a racing driver. Marinangeli will be behind the wheel of Car 27.
Nikita Bedrin (Car 28)
Completing the AIX Racing trio is Nikita Bedrin, who enters his third consecutive FIA Formula 3 season. After a disappointing sophomore year in 2024, Bedrin knows he is running out of chances to make a lasting impact in junior single-seaters. With a maiden win in the Hungary sprint race last season, the Russian-Italian driver will be eager to build on that success and position himself for a future in Formula 2. He will drive Car 28.
