Fred Green will move up to the GB4 Championship in 2026 with Elite Motorsport, completing his graduation to single-seater racing after an outstanding season in Ginetta Juniors. The 16-year-old joins an already strong Elite line-up, strengthening the team’s title ambitions.

Elite Motorsport continues to build on its successful platform, with Green joining recently announced Matan Achituv in the team’s three-car GB4 entry. As reigning Teams’ Champions, Elite now aims to defend its crown while adding further depth to its driver roster.

Dominant Ginetta Junior campaign signals potential

Green arrives in GB4 following an exceptional first full season in car racing. He secured nine victories and 18 podium finishes from 24 races in the 2025 Ginetta Junior Championship, narrowly missing out on the title by just 12 points.

Despite the close finish, he demonstrated consistent front-running pace throughout the year. Furthermore, he combined speed with composure under pressure, which proved crucial in a tightly contested championship battle.

His success also extended beyond the main series. He won the prestigious Ginetta Junior Scholarship for 2025 and became the most successful Scholar since the programme began in 2011. In addition, he achieved Kartmasters GP victory and British Open O Plate success, reinforcing his reputation as one of the strongest young talents in UK motorsport.

Strong racing pedigree and development path

Green’s rise through the ranks reflects a rapid and successful development curve. He began karting in 2020 and quickly progressed through national and international competition.

Green also secured the Junior X30 English Championship in 2023 and followed that with 17 race wins in 2024. He also finished as Senior X30 IAME EuroCup Vice Champion, underlining his adaptability and competitiveness across multiple levels.

His motorsport background also carries strong family pedigree. He is the nephew of former DTM race winner Jamie Green, while his father Nigel Green won the 2017 BriSCA F1 World and European Stockcar Championship. Additionally, he continues to develop his skills through the Motorsport UK Academy in Nottingham.

Title ambition shapes 2026 objectives

Green now prepares for his first GB4 season with clear ambitions. He has already completed testing at Donington Park, Snetterton and Silverstone, where he continued to build confidence in single-seater machinery.

As a result, he enters 2026 with strong preparation and a clear performance target. He has set his sights on both individual success and contributing to Elite Motorsport’s broader championship goals.

“After a strong year in Ginetta Juniors, and with the support of Elite Motorsport and MSV, I’m incredibly excited and grateful to step up to the GB4 Championship. I’m continuing with Elite for 2026 because I’ve really enjoyed the team environment and the relationships I’ve built throughout the year. I know they can give me a competitive package to have another successful year.

“My aim in 2026 is to win the Driver’s Championship while at the same time contributing to the Teams’ Championship title race with the ultimate goal of helping Elite secure the title for a second consecutive year.

“I’ve learned a huge amount this season, especially in developing my race craft and leading races under pressure. GB4 testing at Donington, Snetterton and Silverstone has helped me take big steps forward and I’m improving every lap as I learn how to get the most out of a GB4 car.”

Elite Motorsport backs rising star

Elite Motorsport has also expressed strong confidence in Green’s ability to make an immediate impact in GB4. The team highlighted his speed, maturity and consistent drive for improvement throughout his junior career.

“Fred’s progression into GB4 is thoroughly deserved and we’re delighted to continue this journey with him. He delivered an outstanding season in Ginetta Juniors, showing speed, maturity and a real determination to improve every time he was on track. His attitude in testing has been equally impressive and we have no doubt he’ll make a strong impact in his first year of single-seaters. Keeping Fred within the Elite Motorsport family was incredibly important to us. We’re excited to help him take this next step and fight at the front in 2026.”

Green now enters GB4 with proven race-winning form, strong testing progression and a championship-winning team behind him. Consequently, he stands as one of the leading rookie contenders heading into the 2026 season.

If he adapts quickly to single-seaters, he could immediately become a factor in both the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championship battles.
