Evagoras Papasavvas will return to familiar territory this weekend as the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the next events of the 2026 season.

The Crosslink Motorsports driver arrives at the Ohio venue as the championship leader after a strong start to the year. Across the opening five rounds, Papasavvas has claimed two victories and two additional podium finishes, establishing himself as one of the main contenders in the 2026 title fight.

This weekend carries added significance for Papasavvas. Mid-Ohio serves as his home track, and the Loveland, Ohio native will compete in front of family, friends and local supporters as he looks to extend his points advantage.

Papasavvas brings title momentum to Mid-Ohio

Papasavvas has built his championship lead through consistency and race-winning pace. His two victories have given him a strong foundation, while his additional podium finishes have helped him maximise points through the early phase of the season.

As the championship now moves into its next stage, that consistency will become even more important. Mid-Ohio’s technical layout often rewards clean execution, precise car placement and careful race management, all of which will play a key role across the weekend.

For Crosslink Motorsports, the event offers another opportunity to strengthen its position at the front of the FRAC field.

Home-track experience adds extra confidence

Mid-Ohio is one of the most familiar circuits on the calendar for Papasavvas. Growing up in Loveland, Ohio, he has completed countless laps around the Lexington-based road course and has also won races there across multiple disciplines.

The 2.258-mile, 13-turn circuit is widely regarded as one of North America’s most respected road courses. Its elevation changes, technical corners and fast-flowing layout demand accuracy from drivers and a well-balanced car from teams.

That experience could prove valuable as Papasavvas aims to convert his home-track knowledge into another strong result.

Papasavvas focused on maximising points

Although Papasavvas is excited to return to Mid-Ohio, he remains focused on the bigger championship picture. With much of the season still ahead, the Crosslink Motorsports driver knows he must keep building points while maintaining his current momentum.

“I’m really excited to get back to Mid-Ohio,” explained Evagoras. “It’s a track I’ve raced at and tested on quite a bit over the years, so it’s always special when we come here. To be leading the championship heading into my home race is a great feeling, but there’s still a lot of racing left this season. The goal is to stay focused, maximize points, and hopefully put on a good show for everyone who comes out to support us this weekend.”

His comments underline the balance he will need to strike. While the home event brings extra emotion and support, Papasavvas will still need to approach the weekend with discipline as he protects his championship lead.

Papasavvas heads to Mid-Ohio with momentum from another successful outing at Road America and a strong opening run to the 2026 season.

With home-track advantage, championship confidence and a competitive Crosslink Motorsports package behind him, he will aim to strengthen his position at the top of the standings.

However, Mid-Ohio’s technical nature leaves little room for error. Therefore, Papasavvas will need to combine his circuit knowledge with strong execution across testing, practice, qualifying and both races.

If he can do so, the Ohio native could leave his home event with an even firmer grip on the FRAC championship battle.
