2026 Indy 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist will be leaving Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) at the conclusion of the IndyCar season.

Co-owner of the team Mike Shank confirmed the news to highly respected oultet RACER.

“It’s unfortunate that Felix has decided to move on from MSR at the end of the season, particularly given everything we’ve accomplished together, including this year’s Indy 500 victory.

“Over the past several years, Felix has played an important role in helping build this program into what it is today, and we’re grateful for his contributions both on and off the track.”

A successful IndyCar partnership between Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) and Felix Rosenqvist comes to an end at the of 2026

Having left Arrow McLaren following the conclusion of the 2023 IndyCar campaign, the 34-year-old Swede signed for Meyer Shank Racing. Finishing in the top 10 in the opening five rounds of 2024, along with a pole at Long Beach, the season faded out as it went on.

In 2025, MSR started a technical alliance with Chip Ganassi Racing as the team looked to learn and improve from the benchmark squad in the series. A string of strong qualifying performances followed, with a P2 at Road America the best result of last year.

However, the 2026 IndyCar season has been a huge step and success for MSR and Felix Rosenqvist. While it was a pretty difficult start to the season, it has transformed since then, with race pace significantly better.

The turnaround started at Long Beach. Having taken pole position, Rosenqvist was controlling the race until a caution worked against him, eventually losing out to Alex Palou in the pit cycle. Last Sunday, the Swede looked on course for victory until a caution worked against him once more whilst leading.

Nonetheless, the pain of losing those wins is far easier to handle following his legendary, thrilling victory on the final lap of the 2026 Indy 500. Felix Rosenqvist beat David Malukas in a drag race to the line in the closest finish ever seen in ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’.

Andretti Global or Arrow McLaren in 2027 after MSR IndyCar exit

According to RACER, the Swede has received a significant financial offer to join either Andretti or McLaren.

Felix Rosenqvist is no stranger to McLaren machinery. He drove with the team from 2021-2023, securing multiple IndyCar podiums and poles with them.

If he went there, Nolan Siegel would be the one to lose out. If it is Andretti, his fellow Swede and Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson is likely to depart.
