Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic took a break from the pressures of the title race with a special visit to the world-renowned Prodrive headquarters in Banbury. The Australian, who currently leads the GB3 Championship, explored the legendary motorsport facility and came away both inspired and impressed by its illustrious history.

“Today has been an amazing day to go around Prodrive and see all the different categories and different things that they do. It’s definitely very inspiring and a nice little treat ahead of a busy weekend!” he enthused.

During his visit, Ninovic immersed himself in Prodrive’s rich legacy across rallying, touring cars, GT racing, and Dakar competition. He also added his name to the facility’s internal records by setting a new benchmark on the Prodrive Racing Simulator. The Prodrive tour was arranged by John Cavill, founder of the GB3 Pole Position Cup Award, who has long supported drivers in the MSV-run championships.

Focused on the task ahead

As the GB3 Championship reaches its penultimate round at Donington Park, Ninovic stands on the brink of clinching the title. A lead extension of 31 points by the end of the weekend would crown him champion, but the 18-year-old remains calm and grounded.

“This weekend could be quite cool, the championship is far away but also at the same time can be quite close and we’ll see how it goes. I’ll be trying my hardest to be at the front, and the rest will be as it will be.”

Despite the championship pressure, the young Australian has shown exceptional form all season, racking up six victories and another podium from the 18 races held so far. His consistency has put him in a commanding position heading into the weekend.

Confidence in consistency

Ninovic credits his team and recent performances for his current position, and he remains hopeful of maintaining that form at Donington.

“The last three, four, five rounds have been really nice, and it shows that we can do it repeatedly, so I’m hoping with a little bit of luck we will be able to do something similar this weekend. I know the team has been doing an amazing job with the car, I’m sure it will be fast and if we put it all together we should be at the front somewhere.”

“As long as we can score some good points this weekend, that’s the main goal and anything extra is a bonus.”

As the Donington weekend looms, Ninovic looks to carry both momentum and motivation into what could be a defining moment in his young career.
