After stepping onto the F1 Academy grid as a Wild Card with PREMA Racing in 2024, Courtney Crone embarked on her first full season in the category in 2025 with ART Grand Prix. Representing the Haas F1 Team, the American faced the challenge of adapting to a complete championship schedule rather than a single round appearance. The campaign ultimately became one of gradual progression, intermittent setbacks and measured gains rather than immediate breakthroughs.

A measured start for Courtney Crone in Shanghai

The 2025 season began in Shanghai with a modest but solid weekend. After qualifying 15th, Crone finished P12 in both races. While she left Round 1 without points, she demonstrated encouraging race pace and handled midfield battles cleanly. It was not a headline grabbing debut to the year, but it provided a stable foundation.

Round 2 in Jeddah presented a greater challenge. In Race 1, Crone was involved in a lap 4 collision with Lia Block, resulting in a 10 seconds time penalty after the contact led to a spin and further disruption in the pack. Race 2 unfolded more cleanly, though she again finished outside the top ten.

Momentum shifts from Miami to Montreal

Miami offered a step forward. In Race 1, Crone secured P9 with ART Grand Prix, capitalising on a chaotic contest that featured multiple retirements. While circumstances played a role, the result marked her first top ten finish of the season and suggested progress. However, building momentum remained difficult.

In Montreal, another setback followed. During Race 3, contact with Emma Felbermayr on lap 14 sent Crone off track, ending a potential opportunity to challenge closer to the points. The weekend reinforced a recurring theme of promising phases interrupted by incidents or track position challenges.

Points in Singapore and a steady finish to the F1 Academy season

Later in the season, Crone opened her points tally in Singapore with a P10 finish. The result came without major incident or standout moments, but it represented a small yet meaningful milestone. In the Netherlands, she completed the round outside the top 15, maintaining an average rhythm without significant highs or setbacks.

The Las Vegas finale brought her strongest late season result. Crone finished P8, adding two more points in a race shaped by incidents elsewhere in the field. Overall, the closing rounds were comparatively calm, lacking both the sharp peaks and notable clashes seen earlier in the campaign. Across the full 2025 F1 Academy season, those steady but limited returns ultimately contributed to a 19th place finish for Courtney Crone in the championship standings.
