Besides racing for ART Grand Prix in 2026, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak opened up about life outside of the F2 paddock. Sitting 5th in the Drivers’ Standings with 13 points heading into the third round, the Thai driver spoke to F2 about how his university studies have kept him busy during time away from racing.

Inthraphuvasak said: “When I get a minute away from racing, I’m in university. I’m in England studying mechanical engineering right now, which is a very tough course. But it gives me time to focus on something other than racing.”

“When you get super busy with racing, when you don’t have anything to do, you kind of feel like you’re not getting up to anything and you’re not doing anything. So, I always have to keep myself busy, and being in uni and having to go to uni keeps me busy and keeps me working all the time.”

Staying active outside of racing

The 20 year-old explained that he enjoys staying active outside of racing, often playing other sports and spending time with his friends away from the track. Living in London full-time, Inthraphuvasak shared how he is also balancing his studies with the support of his university, which understands his racing commitments.

“Apart from that, I love to play sports since I was young. I make time to play football, paddle, or anything with a few friends, I try to spend as much time with my friends away from the track as possible. I live in London now, which is a city I love, where you can do pretty much anything you want.”

“I’m enjoying it so far. I’m going into campus. It’s not online at all, it’s full-time. The university understands my racing and my priorities, so I can manage both at the moment, which is super good.”

From one bustling city to another: Bangkok to London

Having grown up in the bustling heart of Bangkok, London feels like a reminder of home for Inthraphuvasak. Despite its chaos, the Thai driver enjoys the city for its variety, and with his friends around him, he has made London his second home.

“I grew up in Bangkok, which I think is arguably the most chaotic or busy places out there. So, I’m used to the environment, and being in London gives me the same vibes of being back home.”

“So, that’s why I enjoy it a lot, and I think it’s a place where you can go out and find anything you want to do, even though it’s not planned. I think it’s a big city where I know a lot of people that I’ve met through the years I’ve spent in London, also from back home. I have a lot of friends around London, so I enjoy it quite a lot.”

Spending time on his simulator with Tsolov

Even with a busy schedule outside of racing, he still makes time to stay sharp on the simulator with his former teammate, Nikola Tsolov. The duo led Campos Racing to their first FIA Formula 3 Teams’ title at the Monza season finale last year, where Inthraphuvasak and Tsolov finished one-two in the Feature Race to seal the championship.

Having built a strong relationship on track, their friendship has remained strong off it as well.

“I spend a lot of time on the sim as well, outside of racing some teammates. I race against Nikola the most, who was my teammate last year.”

“So, I’ve kept a really good relationship with him, and we spend quite a lot of time on the sim together just keep the racing going. It’s meant to be a way to relax but does get competitive very quickly.”
